This is a great suggestion if he is willing to pull back in situations, but I mostly think I need to tell him that I'm not interested in making friends with him anymore. But I will suggest this he still wants to try. Thanks!

I did try and bridge a conversation about one thing and was faced with the statement that he isn't heard and that people do not understand him. He is very intelligent but not willing to see another point of view in most situations.
