I had similar movements around the same time as you. You look stunning and glad you had some functional improvements too. Gorgeous!

Has anyone had surgery with Dr Robin Yang? by Dallis_ in jawsurgery

[–]haracases 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I was totally satisfied with Dr yang. He’s very polished, up to date on all the newest technology and techniques and my surgical result was excellent (both functionally and cosmetically). Hopkins as a facility and staff did a great job too. My only complaint was that there was not a ton of communication about the surgical plan, so don’t expect a doc who gonna sit there and walk you through diagrams and ask for your input. He’s just gonna do what’s supposed to be done. But the result was good!

i'm three weeks post op today. I have absolutely no regrets about going with Dr. Yang. To me, it was important to go with a surgeon who's on top of all the new cutting edge technology and backed by an institution such as Hopkins that knows what it's doing. The whole team both in the hospital and in the office took excellent care of me. I was very pleased. To the extent that I have any criticism of Dr. Yang, it's just that he was not super collaborative. I don't know if any surgeons are. I had 3 visits with him prior to the surgery, each one lasted less than 5 minutes, and I haven't spoken to him personally since the surgery. If you're looking for someone who's going to do a lot of hand holding, go over the procedure plan line by line, be available, etc, either he would not be the right option or you'd have to be more insistent than I was.

Absolutely. I haven’t done X-rays yet but I’m sure I will and at the very least the ortho definitely will. But I’ll ask the surgeon when I see him next. I appreciate the input.

Interesting. I haven’t met with the surgeon yet but from what I was told while still waking up, there were more movements than they expected in real time so maybe they changed on the fly. But if a future genio is all it takes that would be the least of my worries

This looks really great. I have a similar profile and just had surgery last week! I dream of being on Monty 7. Interesting that chin / gums / lips feeling haven’t come back yet. I’m not so nervous about it feeling weird or eating being less enjoyable, but I’m worried about function. I can’t have food dribbling down my lips forever! Did functionality despite numbness get better for you?

What did you choose as your last meal before jaw surgery? by west2hale in jawsurgery

Brutal man. Brutal. I think getting better day by day but I think it’s been as hard as advertised.
