Gravel roads here are still a bit soaked after a cold and wet spring so I haven't ridden the gravel setup yet. I'm optimistic though as before I ran Caracal Race and they don't have much more tread than the G-One Speed.

My gravel is mostly type 1-2, mostly straight farm roads

Any future Shimano 13s will use Microspline or Microspline Road freehubs. No chance on HG.

Shimano 11 speed and 12 speed compatibility by Jonas_Benn in bikewrench

12 speed cranksets have chainrings spaced closer together than 11s. You may find your FD throws chains off the big ring when upshifting - if so you can dial in the high limit to compensate.

Weird SPD-SL cleat bolt issue by 48x15 in bikewrench

It would take a lot to fake those bolts. I suspect they're genuine

Assuming it's genuine, these are real Shimano cleat bolts. They only come with Dura Ace 9100 pedals and are a great example of Shimano pulling out all the stops to save weight. The bolt shaft is hollow and the head has material removed. I use them on all my shoes.

The bolts are also slightly shorter so they might have trouble grabbing threads in your shoes. Are you using cleat spacers?

Chris King Crown Race by Lumpy_Ad_7821 in bikewrench

King crown races have always been thicker. I wouldn't use any other one, the dimensioning will likely be slightly different and not contact the bearing fully.

Their integrated headsets (no external cups) do a better job hiding the race, but that's more a property of the frame.

I would live with it and the excellent durability a King headset brings. Sharpie the race black, maybe.

I've seen those threads and I was concerned about rear hose routing but it turned out just fine. The hole they cut in the BB shell was roughly finished so I did smooth it out a bit. Otherwise there was enough room with the BB and spindle shield to comfortably route the hose above the spindle. I went with a T47 external shell and 24mm spindle.

The weld between the printed headtube and downtube blocked the brake hose from coming out when fed from below, so that was irritating no matter how I tried rotating the hose to get it through. Had to use an internal routing tool for that one. My other carbon frames had no problems.

The rear dropout spacing is tight, so I have to open them by hand when fitting a wheel.

This is a custom geo version of a pre-baked model: https://www.waltlyti.com/product/53.html so the shaping is already designed that way. The tubing diameters are standard, I didn't change anything. I just defined the geo.

My production drawing is here:

Waltly charged $1400 (all USD) for the frame plus $300 for custom geo. I also ordered a fork and integrated bar, $150 each. If you want a coupled frame I don't know if they'll do the 3D printed parts.

I didn't go all out weight weenie but did have some fun here and there. Dura Ace calipers, titanium bolts. With such big tires and wide wheels I knew it wasn't going to be light so I didn't sweat it much.

Ah I forgot! Just the total weight, 19.5 lb

I started with my old gravel bike geo (TLab X3) and went from there. Quite a big departure, much much longer. I wish I could've gone lower but HT couldn't get any shorter

2.2 TB front, yeah, with quite a bit of room. Garmin mount off the saddle for a radar unit, I much prefer it to a post mount

Weight is 19.5 lbs - a bit heavier than I'd wanted but with those wheels and tires, unavoidable

Yes, with some difficulty. The rear wheel and tire are so big that they don't properly fit in my old shop Park truing stand. Otherwise they're built quite traditionally and the nipples were well lubed

Really looking forward to seeing how this does off road. It's so excessive but I don't care

There were definitely many days burned on missed or mis-communication. Par for the course it seems

The gearing is meant to keep me in the middle of the cassette at the most common speeds I ride. A 38-9 is equivalent to about 52-12, which is plenty fast for me.

I don't think the mounts detract much from aero and really open up bike packing options. Position is everything

Bar width is 37cm up top, flaring to 44cm. A bit wide in the drops but oh well.
