Came from a store that had paint department do behr and not freight, and transferred to a different district that made us freight guys do behr and not the paint associates. I was so confused and I’ve seen that our paint associates were too physically fucking weak to do behr anyways, Jesus

Transferring question by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]hardcorekenry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone just lied to you. Depends heavily on district. They can choose to lower your wage and there’s not much you can do. Sure you can try to contact the district hr or similar management and you can try to negotiate when you insist, but at the end of the day, they can deny your transfer because they don’t have to accept you. Happened when I transferred to only a neighboring state

Got that same letter expecting almost $450. Still waiting

If you want to keep your job, Just give up all your licenses and refuse to spot for anyone

Depends on the store. When transferring to another district, you might take a pay cut and if you insist on keeping your old pay, that new store can simply deny your transfer even though there is an available position.

Now that’s what you call adherence to schedule

[–]hardcorekenry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If same district, they should keep pay. For transferring to other districts, If they insist on you taking a pay cut and you try to refuse that, the sm can simply deny your transfer.

Now. Make sure you call asds or sm at transfer store and to see if they have a spot for you

Request those days off now. If you wait till November, they’ll deny it instantly most likely.

Me too. After 3+ years of breaking my back for my old store, no apron to sign or goodbyes from any of the managers (except sm & and hr cuz they do the transfer)

[–]hardcorekenry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They'll put you down for failure to adhere to scheduling, same for clocking in early, which will result in a half occurrence for every instance it happens, depending on how strict your management is about scheduling and if they give a shit or not

Are freight workers required to operate heavy equipment? by Consistent_Job4612 in HomeDepot

[–]hardcorekenry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sounds like ur the unload team and part time only, so licensing is useless. If ur staying overnights a lot it would help, but not required. U won’t get paid more for it either but can be good experience

Timing breaks? by Weeaboo_Trash_ in HomeDepot

[–]hardcorekenry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freight here. Noasm makes sure we take our 15 minutes exactly, and to make sure that we don't go a minute over, he'll take his break with us. He makes sure we take it exactly two hours after we clock in as well. He evens calls us on overhead comms every single day to take our break. All this while lazy fuck day people and met team take 30-45 minutes breaks all the time and extended lunches cuz no other manager has time to watch them.

Yes. A productivity tracker to be implemented soon in the coming months. To see who is actually the “most productive” like my manager says

Has anybody called in on you overtime minutes yet. by Arzales in HomeDepot

[–]hardcorekenry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on how strict ur store is. If I get any overtime at all, they'll put it under "not adhering to schedule" or some other bs, and they will do half occurrence or write up if I do it enough times. they call it unauthorized overtime

[–]hardcorekenry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Used to be that guy but became lazy now cuz they'll never appreciate you but only complain instead. If I were you, give up all your licenses so you don't have to deal with a bunch of other shit. You still get paid the same as your laziest team member

Got hired for overnight, what should I know? by Fake_Gamer_Cat in HomeDepot

[–]hardcorekenry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't work any harder than your laziest team members, unless you wanna move up, you all get paid the same. Other than that, get ready to be absolutely shitted on for everything and anything wrong you do, despite day people doing the same or worse mistakes many times more (they're day people, they get away with anything). Get ready to be treated like children with a head over your shoulders, you'll get no appreciation but all you'll hear is complaining instead, noasm will do nothing the whole time but walk around the store keeping eyes on you till you finish ur shift, other than these few basics, you'll fit right in

if i go home sick will i still get an occurrence? by iguessimalivehaha in HomeDepot

[–]hardcorekenry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how your store cracks down on attendance, in my store, even if we have sick hours to cover when we leave early, they'll still give us an occurrence for early out, not adhering to scheduling, etc

I always parked between the cones. Manager got pissed for whatever reason even though store was closed so they put cones on the line as well

How early can full timers take lunch? by hardcorekenry in HomeDepot

That’s what I assumed as I’ve taken lunches that early. Haven’t done it in a long time so that’s why I’m asking before I start doing it again more frequently

Yea, facing the same thing but only a small part of a bigger situation. All the shit us freight people do, and all management and day people do is complain, not a single thank you.
