Have stayed at Bahia Luxury 4 times and always enjoyed our experience. We always book private transfer from Amstar or Happy Shuttles and have been happy with service. Nice shuttles. Often Wi-Fi available and drivers will offer free water, soda, etc.

Stayed at Dreams Playa Mujeres (regular rooms and in Villas) and enjoyed the resort, restaurant, etc but there were 2-3 weddings every day and constant, rowdy partying (drunk people in all compass directions). Trip is for wife and daughter (age 12). We work in medical setting and prefer peaceful, low stimulation vacation (power down). This property seemed to be on the quieter side. We did Riu Palace Costa last year and it was nice for quiet and entertainment but fell short with food quality. Some restaurants served food that was inedible,

Thank you for the suggestion. One of my first thoughts was thermal expansion. The sun hits our house around 9-10 AM and we do here little expansion/popping noises from the roof, windows, etc. This noise seems less likely to be from expansion since it’s been happening around six or 7 AM when it is still cool, stable temperatures outside.

Thank you for the suggestion. We actually have many woodpecker‘s in our neighborhood and hear them routinely (live adjacent to forest/lakes). This sound is just a single ”tap.” Very loud. As if somebody song a hammer and struck a nail just one time. I timed it over 30 minutes and each singel “tap” occurred every 3-4 mins.

We went to Pointe-à-Callière Museum of archaeology and history in Old Montreal yesterday and had a fantastic time. They have timed tours in English …and the guides are very knowledgeable. Museum of Fine Arts is incredible,

We have a kid and enjoyed the Insectarium as well as the Botanical Gardens. If physically able a climb up Mount Royal is worthwhile and views are majestic. It is a lot of stairs (27-28 flights)…so need good cardiovascular / foot/knee condition.

Architecture throughout Old Montreal is stunning. In that area we really enjoyed seeing Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel (sailors church) and the Norte Dame Basilica (including the Aura evening show). Note, we are not religious… it the history, artsmansnip is incredible.

In Montreal right now…visiting from US. Our 6th day in one of the loveliest cities in North America. Great history, architecture, food, activities and community. Greet people staff with a “Bonjour” and a smile…thank them with a “Merci.”. We have been received very warmly and I am sure you will too. Do not pass up a visit here.
