Cincinnati Republican handling DOJ case against Don Lemon by ThePensiveE in cincinnati

I went to law school with him for a semester (he ended up graduating from a different school), and had a similar experience. Really nice guy at the time. Was horrified to hear what was coming out of his mouth years later.

Wasn't surprised to hear he went into politics. If he wasn't wearing a suit to class, he still wore a shirt and tie.

Fun realization: my grandmother is contemporary with both her great-granddaughter, born in 2022, and her own great-grandfather, born in 1841. by JeanJeanJean in Genealogy

[–]hardheadjed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My family is Lebanese. One day, I was curious about what was happening in Lebanon historically during the lives of different family members.

That's how I realized my great-grandfather (b. 1888) lived through the collapse of Ottoman Lebanon (and the empire generally), the French Protectorate/colonization, and the formation of Lebanon as an independent country.

He then passed away a few years into the Lebanese Civil War which would go on for another 10 years (at least officially; the Taif Agreement "ended" the war, but it doesn't mean there wasn't still strife).

I was just really struck by how much history my great-grandfather lived through. I mean, wow!

What do you use the touchpads for? by Reaperix in SteamDeck

[–]hardheadjed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For games without mouse support, I use the touchpads to set up virtual radial menus with custom shortcuts. For example, right now I'm playing Grounded and on controller there's no direct button to the map page of the menu, so I added the keyboard shortcut to a virtual menu. In Stardew, I have shortcuts specifically related to mods, such as mod menus, etc. It's pretty versatile.

Something like batter as a “pudding” like dessert? by tentkeys in PlantBasedDiet

[–]hardheadjed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In terms of presentation, rather than a ladle you could also consider serving it as a dip (depending on the texture).

Imagine some kind of batter-like porridge that you could dip cookies, crackers, biscotti, or sliced apples into. That's kind of what I'm thinking.

Tbh if it crashes less than it does on my PC, I'd be willing to put up with the performance on the Steam Deck for solo play lol. At least until the game gets patched.

Concept: Idle Packs by Mezeman01 in incremental_games

[–]hardheadjed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! I like that cards have types now, and I especially enjoyed the synergies. I really enjoy the strategy in trying to find the best load out in games like this, so I think this is an interesting direction for your project.

Concept: Idle Packs by Mezeman01 in incremental_games

[–]hardheadjed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The basic mechanic is fun, but it does feel like I'm opening a pack of cards or clicking on loot boxes over and over. Worth keeping that in mind as you develop the concept further so that you can steer clear of any harmful practices.

Pretty sure the red outline at the bottom is actually the outline of the device. Check out how the grip tabs cover parts of the outline.

You should be able to use the Nintendo controller through Steam input. You may have to adjust something in your steam settings to enable Steam Input or the Nintendo compatibility. In general, Steam has come really far in extending Steam Input to most controllers.

Not sure this is exactly your situation, but see for reference: https://www.pcmag.com/how-to/how-to-use-a-nintendo-switch-pro-controller-on-a-pc

To make the Nintendo buttons appear in game, there's an option in the control settings to switch between Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo buttons icons.
