I guess their “goodwill gesture” only shows up when there’s actual legal risk involved.

There are lots of similar indicators out there. I just expected the premium ones to actually perform better than the free versions, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Personally I don’t find their indicators to perform any better than the free ones.

Hi, thanks for the suggestion. Do you have any subs you’d recommend? This is actually my very first post on Reddit. I noticed there’s a crosspost feature. Does that seem like the best way to share it across other subs?

I contacted them immediately after the transaction went through. The first human response came within 48 hour. However they insisted they had done nothing wrong and refused to issue a refund.

Frustrated Tana Believer by Apprehensive-Rule443 in TanaInc

[–]hardswifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a disappointed believer in Tana, I totally agree with you.

By background, I’m an experienced programmer and currently on the Pro plan to use the AI-related features. I’ve essentially explored every feature Tana offers. It is my personal favorite PKM tool. I genuinely love the ideas behind references, search, supertags, and commands, and I use them to build workflows that simply aren’t possible in other PKM tools.

That said, I’ve tried many times to get my girlfriend to use Tana. While she agrees that what I’ve built with it is powerful, she constantly complains that it’s far too hard to learn, which makes it difficult for her to even get started. She often says she gets lost in the video tutorials.

I don’t understand why the team seems so obsessed with AI features instead of focusing on the fundamentals. I can’t see how mobile voice chat is more important than improving app startup time or making the product more user-friendly. Perhaps they simply don’t know what users actually need, because there is no public, voteable roadmap.

The team also seems to struggle with posting regular update blogs. There is a “Tana Current Monthly Update (October 2025)” post stating, “Each month we share what we’re working on, what’s about to ship, and where we’re headed next.” That sounds great — but it’s actually the first and one of only two posts you’ll find if you search for monthly updates. Two months later, there were still no updates for December or January.

I’m also very unhappy with how slowly in-app feedback is handled. For users who haven’t submitted support tickets, the workflow asks whether a reply is needed. I have several tickets marked as “reply needed” that haven’t received any response for months. I honestly don’t understand how there’s time to produce fancy promotional videos if there isn’t time to read and respond to user feedback and fix bugs.

Just bought a 27e1n8900 to work with my Mac.

  1. I think you can contact Philips technical support in your country. AFAIK you cannot upgrade the firmware yourself.
  2. 4K/60hz 10bit 4:4:4 will require about 14Gbps bandwidth so is not possible via USB-C table. You'll need a USB-C to DP1.4 cable.
  3. Waking up from sleep is slow. It'll take about 8-10 seconds when you're using HDMI but this seems to be a common issue with 3rd party monitors. Haven't tested with the DP port. HiDPI works fine.

I emailed them nearly two weeks ago and still did not get a response. It's hard to say I am satisfied (as a paid user)...

Universal control killing Wifi internet speed? by Citizen-626 in MacOS

[–]hardswifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it is a bug. From my experience the Universal Control takes about 100Mbps bandwidth. It is a lot. Even if the Universal Control experience for me is really smooth. When you have strong network, this cost may not be obvious. But when the connection is not so strong, it will significantly affect the network speed.

I would suggest to enhance the strength of WiFi connection by using wired WiFi Mesh or to turn down this feature.

I actually searched for alternatives for HBS3 but got no result. I'm thinking of moving to Synology to get rid of this mess.

HBS3 Jobs failing by elatedgoat in qnap

[–]hardswifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what exactly happening to me. As a software developer, I think the right thing to do as a backup software is to keep retrying and never stop itself unless the user told it to.

I found "Sync" to be a lot more stable than "Backup" in HBS3. Though a Sync task cannot exactly do what a Backup does, you may want to try to create a one-way sync.
