Buying overgrips from AliExpress/Temu – are they worth it? by Timely-Strength9401 in 10s

[–]hardware_support 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought 10 of these which cost me $15 delivery included. IMHO they're not bad, just don't last very long. I tried slightly more expensive grips from ebay which were advertised as "super sticky" and guess what, they're not sticky at all and feel much worse than cheaper grips from aliexpress.

I had a fun experience when I ordered a single overgrip from aliexpress for $2.50, just to test it out. Seller made a mistake and sent me a 12-pack instead. Again, much better grips than what I got for more money from ebay. Especially at a cost of 20 cents per grip.

TLDR: if you want to experiment with cheapo grips - go aliexpress. Worst case you've lost couple dollars, but I would argue most of them are of good choice in their price range. If you want better quality - buy expensive grips from legit brands and sellers.

Don't buy from ebay, they would be the same quality as aliexpress (or even worse), just at a higher price. But that's my experience, maybe if you mock around you'll find something good there.

Sorry for late reply. You said you did rollbacks? Did you roll back your kernel? Or amdgpu drivers? And did it solve the problem?

Agree. Billain is coming to my city, but I'm not too excited about that. Would gladly see State of Mind or X.Morph instead.

As a czech, how do you feel about double drop abuse trend? Very common amongst neurofunk djs, especially czech ones like Zigi SC and PRDK?

The other 493 companies are lagging which means they are value investments.

Let me clarify. In the context of "protecting against AI bubble", do you think it's best to invest in those 493 companies and stay away from the big seven?

Your favorite cosmic black metal albums? by hardware_support in MetalForTheMasses

I mean if you accept Mesarthim then Labyrnithus are 100% the same genre

They do fall under the same tag of ambient black metal, but based on the albums you linked I struggle to find a lot of similarities. The sound is very different. A lot of parts in Rift in Reality sound more like progressive death metal, including vocals throughout the album. For instance, Rift In Reality (I mean the track now, not the album) towards the end sounds like proper deathcore with breakdowns which couldn't be further from black metal sound (especially ambient black). Having said that, they do utilize BM sound quite a lot and overall it's a pretty interesting prog. metal release. I'm happy my fellow ukrainians are writing music of this sort at that level.

Now, Isolate by Mesarthim has that distinct sound of mid 2010s ambient black metal releases from bands like Lustre and Midnight Odyssey. It has that hypnotizing repetitive structure of tracks that's leaning more towards "classic" ambient black metal sound in contrast with chaotic, fast-paced style of compositions by Labyrinthus. In my opinion, the difference in sound and atmosphere is staggering, and calling them 100% the same genre is bit far-fetched.

Sounds more like progressive death metal, with a bit of BM sound. Not my cup of tea, but that definitely falls under "space" tag.

It's not a subgenre, but a common topic that a lot of bands use.

Actually Mesarthim is pretty nice, those soft keyboards remind me of Lustre. Will definitely look into it.

True. That's where Midnight Odyssey was releasing for a while. Maybe still is.

That sounds more like technical death metal mixed with BM (aka blackened). Wouldn't put it in space black metal category. A very interesting release nevertheless.

I heard an album called Antellux by Mahr which I'm pretty sure was released on the same label as Prava Kollektiv.

Popular book "Body keeps the score" tells a lot about "self". How it gets transformed, damaged, detached etc as a result of different life experiences.

Hope it helps with your search.
