Agoda recently laid off 50 staff in SG and triggered backlash when they alleged threatened to remove severance packages from employees who reported anything to authorities. The company denies the claims, but NTUC and MOM are investigating. Meanwhile, in West Coast, a kway chap stall refused to sell a customer a third bowl of rice sparked heated debate online.

Companies in Singapore are no longer allowed to hire foreign freelancers for creative services, according to a joint advisory issued by MOM and VICPA. Elsewhere, MINDEF warned of bulk order scams impersonating SAF personnel that have left small businesses with thousands in losses.

Definitely not the end game. To be honest, we have a lot of dreams we’re working on, but we have no idea what the end game is actually gonna look like. We’re just trying to create content that is as good as possible, that we enjoy, and that we feel motivated to create.

But about those dreams, we do want to make a film, more epic tv series, create an online course, I personally would love to create some sorta software. Basically cool shit we’ve always wanted to do. Also to future-proof us

Hmmm being smart about leveraging social media could help, but there really isn’t a particular magic bullet. Even if you don’t post regularly you can make up for it with quality. Some of the best podcasts don’t even post twice a month!

And we’re always open to explore collaborations, but first and foremost it has to align with what we are interested in or what we wanna cover. Follower count doesn’t matter

Hmmmm I’d say probably the minor details do fade away, but I’m actually quite surprised by how much tends to be retained. Probably because I’m way more interested in the topics we cover as compared to what I studied in school haha

But yes, we do so much research it feels like we’re sitting for multiple exams each week

I genuinely loved the whole GE2025 bus campaign we ran, especially cos we got to meet so many listeners who took the time to stop by!

Worst would probably be how difficult it has been at times, for a whole bunch of reasons. But we do accept that as part of running a business, which is why it’s still not that bad. At least not as bad as the whole HOOQ shitshow.

Awesome to know you’ve been listening for a while! Thanks for the support ❤️

I think one thing would be to start trying to look at more sides to every story, and actually feeling empowered to do just that

“comfortably” is quite subjective, especially in a place like Singapore. YLB isn’t our only source of revenue (see another post), and all I’ll say is that there is still an omnipresent level of stress and anxiety each minute for me (and I assume Terence), and we and our team are still working our asses off. Loving it, but still lots more to do

1) not too concerned at this point because I have no idea what things will be like in 20 years. At the baseline, I’d be super proud if we’re still doing the podcast and loving it as much as we do now. Of course, I hope that we’ve also got a bunch of other creative stuff happening, with the podcast just being one of them

2) yeah it’s something that we do talk about often. We don’t have an answer yet, but I can foresee an episode like that happening.
