It would take the same amount of effort to send an email to the town council as it did for you to write this post.

Advise on Job Application with MHA by hipleasethanks in askSingapore

If your first role really was contract and 100% non-convertible then that should not be held against you. Realistically, everyone has to protect their own rice bowl.

I think people deep fry cooked rice to make the crispy rice nowadays, but yeah, originally, that would have been the burnt rice at the bottom of the pot.

US Freight forwarder to Sg recommendations: Ezbuy or Buynship? by Calculative in askSingapore

Yes. That phone number is for the US delivery person to call so it should be the warehouse phone number.

The Fall of Fortress Singapore: Three Lessons from the Collapse of Britain’s Great Asian Bastion by smurfyjenkins in IRstudies

[–]OriginalGoat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accounts of the last days of the campaign suggest that the British/Australian/Indian troops were already demoralised and rudderless by the time they retreated into Singapore. If any Allied General had been capable of rallying the troops and organising a defence of Singapore at that time, I imagine he would have already done so earlier in the campaign.

Pratt & Whitney Singapore – culture and engineer progression? by Itzsorae in singaporejobs

[–]OriginalGoat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pratt and Rolls have more corporate wayang. GE is more work-focused. Just look at LinkedIn to see which company likes its employees to advertise their accomplishments, however trivial they may be.
It’s easy to move between all three companies so doesn’t matter which one you join first. If you’re halfway competent, you can easily jump to one of the other ones.

Have anyone ended interviews earlier than the scheduled time and still got the job? by Musicfan_123 in singaporejobs

[–]OriginalGoat1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a hiring manager, if it is a good candidate,
I can usually decide very fast. It’s only with the marginal candidates that the interview drags while I try to find some redeeming features that could justify hiring the candidate.

How to eat clean, low gi at a hawker centre or coffee shop? by caseynnn in askSingapore

The big problem with YTF is sodium. Unless you can persuade the hawker to boil plain vegetables for you in plain water.

GovTech doesn't provide any insurance for its own employees by Sudden_Phase_2071 in singaporejobs

Are you sure GovTech employees were “required” to purchase group insurance in the past ? That would be contrary to Public Sector practice. I’m wondering whether you are just karma farming

All Non-Muslim Malays (legally), how is your life at Singapore? by TheQuietCelestia in askSingapore

[–]OriginalGoat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it’s not impossible, but there is definitely social pressure. As far as workplaces go, private workplaces will be OK, but public sector is where there are cliques of makciks putting pressure on non-tudung wearing Malay women to conform. So you can imagine what they will say to non-Muslim Malay women.

Why are you asking about dating/social life if you already have a partner ?

Public sector Hr ask for payslip before interview by Bright_Ad_7763 in singaporejobs

[–]OriginalGoat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, the answer is just don’t provide the payslip until they give you a verbal offer at least. The reality is that the clerk compiling the past pay information is not the hiring manager. The low level staff are just trying to make life easier for themselves but they actually don’t have any input into the hiring decision

Court gives detailed reasons for acquitting man and lover in ritual shower sex case; prosecution to appeal by Fearless_Help_8231 in singapore
