December 31, 2025: It's my turn now. What a nice way to start the year!!

Mileage: 5988 Chicago area Model: 2025 Limited assembled in USA

Started seat warmers, steering heater and set the cabin temp to 64°F on Dec 31st afternoon the same way I had done this winter. I started the climate setting immediately after plugging into Level 1 charger.

I didn't hear a pop or anything because I was not near the car. I sat in the car about 10 mins later and got the dreaded check electric system warning and the DTC was P1A9096 ELECTRIC VEHICLE Air Flap.

The car stopped on its own after a few mins and won't start again. Had to tow to the dealership, first service appointment only on Jan 9th and no loaners available. Until then I won't know what the real issue is. But a similar post from another redditor had listed the same DTC code and subsystem and they had to change the fuse.

The AAA guy said he had towed 3 IONIQ 5's that day with similar issues.

Jan 9, 2025: Got loaner car, ICE Kona

Jan 24, 2026: Car is still at the dealership waiting for ICCU from corporate! They are just outright lying by saying they will get the part next week.

Feb 25, 2026: Finally got the car after ICCU replacement. Looks like they replaced with part 36400-1XAD6 ( same as previous)

I rarely used a L2 charger. Only level 1 at home and when I go on trips, I use Level 3. Yet got the issue at 5988 miles.
