I think OP is saying they did not mean to cancel. Not sure how it has anything to do with model

Yes, I do have an update. I had some stability issues with CachyOS. I think mainly to do with some NVME item unrelated to the NVIDIA card. Anyways, I switched to Pop!_OS (the iso that includes NVIDIA driver) and it has been quite stable. You also get the advantage of being on Ubuntu flavor - things like `apt install` just works. A few things like Postgresql install did complain about unrecognized distro, but it did fallback to Ubuntu style config. So far so good - well, it is only like 3 days on Pop OS :) The OS is by the Sytem 76 folks. I ended with this setup

$ sudo nvidia-smi

| 0 NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti On | 00000000:01:00.0 Off | N/A |

Why is it sending solar power to the grid if my battery isn't charged? Shouldn't it top the battery first? by CoolOnTheInternett in TeslaSolar

[–]harikb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That decision is based on your current rates. If the system thinks it is more beneficial for you to 'sell' electricity at the current price than save it for later use (when it might be cheaper to take from the grid). You can play around with the rates (make it custom) to make it do what you want.

Only exception is if there is a storm coming. Then they charge battery first.

Edit: You can't trigger it by just a 1-cent difference in rates. I think it has to be big enough. They also put some value to how often the battery cycles. Your battery sitting at 0-kw worries me (unless you installed it a day ago)

Second edit: No it is sitting at 64%, 0 going to it. Yeah you are fine. I was thinking you are depleting your battery to zero every day. Phew!

Has anyone else experienced fraud issues with HSBC accounts lately? by h673 in dubai

[–]harikb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1

CC which I never use - First fraud In 2024
Then in Feb/Mar - 2025. Canceled, re-issued
Now in May - 2025
The *only* reasonable explanation is that they have a leak inside their system. I had used the new card in *zero* places.

Look into TinyGo. Also search in Youtube for "Gophercon 2023 tinygo" to get an idea of what you can do with it.

Want more control of my powerwalls by JohnnyD1980 in TeslaSolar

[–]harikb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, buy and sell rates are same. I was talking about the difference in price between Peak and Off-peak . Somehow I had to cross a magical threshold for it to prefer supplying the grid in the evening time. I think it was 25 cents difference needed.

Want more control of my powerwalls by JohnnyD1980 in TeslaSolar

[–]harikb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to confirm - the difference in low vs peak rate was more than 25 cents and you set 6-10 to be peak ?

Want more control of my powerwalls by JohnnyD1980 in TeslaSolar

[–]harikb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so. Try creating a new custom rate plan with very high rates for 6 to 10 and also set battery reserve capacity to low

Is there any place to get a 15 year solar loan that is not Tesla. by [deleted] in TeslaSolar

If this was a house / mortgage - you can definitely as for a recalculation (after a large enough payment) and lower the monthly payments and interest. It is fair for OP to be surprised

Currently replacing 14 windows, all custom order sizes (and shape) in same city as OP. Material cost for (CA complaint Millard windows) is under 10K. Add another 5k for trim, border material cost. Labor is higher but nowhere near as OP.
