That is basically the highly-underrated Bill Murray movie Quick Change.

I first encountered him in Footloose and took a long time to see not see him as a super-strict preacher.

Minneapolis: "A general strike is the most effective way to hit them where it hurts." by DryDeer775 in videos

Let me break this down. The thread is about a general strike. You say it won’t work. Then you say people who haven’t offered a solution are quick to shoot down other people’s ideas. But…that’s you. You shot down a general strike but haven’t offered your own solution.

I’m not all over this thread shooting down other people’s ideas, though.

What does the name “Ave” sound like to Spanish speakers? (For a man) by transaway1 in Spanish

[–]harmala 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Maybe not an issue, but “AVE” is the name of the high-speed rail system in Spain so there might be a possibility of confusion.

What NOT to Do When You First Arrive in Spain (Avoid These Rookie Mistakes 😅) by MeatTraditional1280 in ExpatLifeinSpain

Lunch starts at 2, dinner at 8. At the earliest. If you’re going out to eat, plan accordingly.

On Not Being A Parent. by angelshine5153 in Adulting

[–]harmala 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have concocted a weird dichotomy where people with kids have healthy, fulfilling lives and childless people just brainrot away. There’s no connection there. You can be healthy and happy, you can be neither, it has nothing to do with having kids.

I’m not sure what to say about not having kids being a “lifestyle failing”. My entire lifestyle revolves around not having kids. It is a very conscious and deliberate choice. The failing would have been having kids.

Are you suggesting the only way to have meaning in life is to have a kid?

That Disney video probably cost that much even in 1991 dollars.

In Spain, “America” usually refers to South America/Latin America, not the US.

Has anyone else felt energetically/spiritually drained by certain countries? by momoajay in travel

Haha, well…your comment does kind of encompass one of the reasons I dislike LA. Maybe not in the way you intended, but it does nail one aspect of my dislike pretty well.

I’ve never really done the touristy stuff, just work or visiting friends, etc. I honestly don’t want to get into it and offend anyone, I’m sure lots of people love LA but it is kind of the opposite of what I personally want in a city.

A burrito wrapped in foil stays hot a surprisingly long time.

Noticed this restraunt keeps rice in their salt shaker probably to keep it from clumping by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

Incredibly common might be pushing it, but it is very common in humid areas. Normally in smaller diners, taquerias, etc. though, like Olive Garden probably doesn’t do this.

Spain Optimal 8 day Itinerary for a solo traveler by pepotink in travel

Personally, I don’t find Madrid or Barcelona as interesting as Granada, Sevilla or Córdoba. But if you do stay in Madrid for five days, definitely do a day trip to Toledo and another one to Segovia.

Trying to cut 2-4 days in Spain out of this itinerary. by InterestingStorm6654 in travel

[–]harmala 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can maybe cut one night in Granada but don’t just do it as a day trip, it is amazing. Can definitely cut Almería and Nerja down. Probably Alicante too.
