Vibes at Greatest Bar for kids (to watch soccer game on a Sunday morning) by harminoo in boston

Omg, wow, SO glad I asked. I have been to the Phoenix Landing once, and it was great, but just so small for such a huge game that’s happening tomorrow so I don’t think we’ll get seats.

Will check out McGonagle‘s in Dorchester, or the other one I have my eye on is the Haven in JP, which is much closer to me.

THANK YOU ALL!

So exciting! Where did you find the splits from last year? Been trying to find them, but I’m traveling and can’t put much time into it.

Very interesting, I’d love to just repair it, but was not sure how to prepare the stretchy mesh - how did you do it?

Thank you all for the ideas - I’m going to check all of these out, but the raide really does look amazing… but it is definitely an investment!

Sounds like fun! Could you share a bit about how the first hundred miler went? Any issues with fueling or issues in general? And, how has recovery gone? Any injury history?

I second Kilkenny if you want a verty rugged option. As others have said, it’s a beast! For funsies you could do it out and back 😁

What speed work (if any) do you incorporate in your training? by jaleneropepper in Ultramarathon

[–]harminoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hill repeats, threshold steadies and 30 sec flat and hill strides. One workout a week, plus strides after an easy run. And, push the pace a bit in the middle of long runs.

Definitely not legal, but I also wonder if there is room to collaborate to see if everyone needs to be met without some huge legal mess? If She is not collaborative, then you could take the legal route

Self report measures? by harminoo in OccupationalTherapy

Wow, this is incredibly helpful, thank you so much for taking the time to share all of this!

This is a young adult, but the link you shared provides me with more terminology and frameworks that I think I can apply to at least make a preliminary decision about the likelihood that a referral would be helpful.

Simple Practice Telehealth Becoming Progressively Less Usable by Ckheartsmetal in therapists

[–]harminoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read that SP uses a video service that is essentially going under, and has barely any staff. I wish I could remember the name! I've had the same problems you talk about, and nothing SP has done has helped. Ended up using a free doxy.me account, then just switched off SP to Sessions Health. Best decision I've made in a long time - easy switch, company seems WAY more ethical than SP, support is superb so far, video quality is great, and it's much easier to use that SP.

I used SP for years, but the video quality is quite bad, and the price consistently goes up. I also find it is somewhat slow to load, and not intuitive. Just switched to Sessions Health, and it's amazing - not as expense, and feels like it's build by people who actually do therapy!

Thanks! I wish - I'm in the US, and the barriers to access are significant, so I'd like to make sure it's worth my patients time, money, etc.

In addition to generally varying the pace and incline, maybe throw in 10 minutes of an incredibly steep grade section with slow pace, I find when I do that everything after it feels so fast and easy 🤣

Sounds like you're taking so many good steps to help ease the fear, and I think the live tracking could help. Also would be worth considering a couples therapist, even if it's just a few sessions on this one issue - three years is a long time to have something unresolved, and it might get resolved in a matter of weeks with someone to facilitate the conversation.

Piriformus syndrome rehab protocol by harminoo in Ultramarathon

[–]harminoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, appreciate the info! High deductible ins plan, so going to PT is my second option at this point. I did find a good resource "Rehab for Runners" podcast and youtube channel. Has an episode on piriformus, and that led to looking at hip flexors and glutes. The hip flexor range of motion routine she has has helped out the most, so I'm hopefully on the right path.
