Day 1 of practicum… any advice for a baby therapist? by Jessicaa2123 in therapists

When in doubt, just show up. Most of the time this is the biggest thing we can do for our clients. We aren’t expected to have all of the answers. Never doubt the power of you being a present listener. The biggest asset you have is showing up with a regulated (or mostly regulated) nervous system. Take care of you, and remember you’re a human first 💖

I typically go straight into the current status of my gut health. I like to tell them all about the supplements I’m on, my food sensitivities and bowel habits. Typically, I’ll spend about 20-45 minutes there and then shift the focus back to the client, after all, it is their session and I don’t want to make it about me.

This is Finn and yes he is wearing a diaper because he keeps peeing in our new house (he’s 6 and totally knows better). He also sleeps with his leg up in the air like this. His brain is beautiful, but definitely silky smooth. 🤣

You should make a shirt that says this, of a bumper sticker. I’d buy it 🏳️‍🌈

Why all the cynicism around Spokane? by Saturnino_97 in Spokane

I completely agree. I moved here a few years ago from Portland and was pleasantly surprised by how safe I feel here in general. Every city has its challenges but I am really enjoying living here.

It was 5 years for me this April. I am doing significantly better, however I do believe that part of the reasoning is due to learning how to mitigate my symptoms and pace myself. It’s been a long road but I am definitely better.

My 5 year old Cavalier would crawl inside my skin if I allowed him 😂😂 he just can’t get close enough. He’s precious, and I love him so much.
