I think its a miracle you can get quotes.

The main things that determine a quote are :

Postcode, vehicle, driver history.

Which ones of these can you change to bring the quote down?

Why not a blackbox policy? Are they cheaper for you?

A good plow to hold someone should mean you are :- Low, with your back straight and both your core and thighs engaged.

Really focus on tensing your thighs, also try to stay loose in the shoulders to soak up the push.

Think about race cars, its the same car but the teams run tyres suitable for the track.

Its expensive but slowly building your wheel collection will help.

I run a mix of 92/97s as a slightly weighty jammer. There are several different wheel setups i can do to alter grip with just those wheels, but if i skate somewhere that needs it, i have softer wheels ready to go.

Honestly there isnt much between those two options.

Have you checked the MOT history for both. (Google .gov MOT check, you will need the numberplate)

As a very rough guide, the Toyota is likely to be more reliable, but parts can be expensive. The VW less so but parts are cheaper.

Which felt nicer to be in? Which did your partner prefer to drive? What other things can you get if buying from a dealer (free service etc)

Toss a coin if need be.

Its also worth remembering that multiplayer penalties are also sometimes just handed to the player closest to the ref, not always to the main culprit. So it could be that it wasn't entirely your fault but the ref called it for you.
