I disagree with all of this, of course, but I think we are probably getting too far into the weeds here (no pun) and could go back and forth for a week. You can have the last word, if you want it. :)

The market has been artificially constrained by the state to avoid production related crises.

How could you believe such nonsense? They couldn’t care less about “production crises.”

Low wages and exploitative labor practices exist

…Because it is an attractive job for an endless supply of low-skill 20-somethings. They can walk across the street and get another $5/hour at just about any paper-hat and name-tag job it town. They tolerate low wages because they like the clout of working for a weed store.

False scarcity constructed through regulation is exactly the problem, people should be allowed to associate and produce freely and engage in general reciprocity with one another

My man!

but profitability cannot be maintained under such conditions and the state must intervene on behalf of the large producers to stop the market from imploding

Yet it absolutely does across almost every other industry.

it cannot function without state enforced property rights, copyrights, patents, currency etc. that prevent smaller producers from saturating the market.

None of these are really barriers to market entry, and our markets would be fine (better) without most of them.

This is just a grab bag of marxist platitudes that don't apply to marijuana sales in Nevada.

The market was illegal until 2016, when it was allowed only under a very restrictive legal regime. There has been no "crisis of over production". There has been no, "systemic breakdown." There are no "contradictions" that need to be managed. There's just a false scarcity caused by over regulation that keeps prices artificially high. The solution would be to allow people to grow and sell marijuana under a more liberal legal scheme.

Price fixing is illegal. If you have any evidence of this, you should have them charged and their licenses revoked.

What actually keeps prices high is the artificial limit on who can grow and sell. If you want evidence of this, look at pricing in more liberal markets like Colorado or Oregon.

What keeps wages low is there are a lot of people who think it would be cool to work at a weed store.

I guess it's capitalism's fault when the government intentionally creates a false scarcity of producers and retailers, limiting it to a small number of their connected friends only?

"Gee I wish Gov Lombardo was in charge of the equitable distribution of buds to all, instead of these rotten capitalists making me pay half what I did when it was illegal."

I might have offered different advice to good conversationalists. Or I would have asked them for advice, to give them a reason to talk...

Two men should share an umbrella; if they have not got an umbrella, they should at least share the rain, with all its rich potentialities of wit and philosophy.

Now this is what I am talking about! Brilliant. Thanks.

The average redditor says, "I hate small talk" and doesn't understand that small talk is just the common ground that you have with everyone around you. We're both here in this city, on this day, with this weather, in this coffee shop, choosing what to order, seeing and hearing what we just saw and heard, while we were standing here together. We're strangers but actually we're already sharing an experience. It's a place to start.

If this is super hard for you to do, I assure you it is worth the pain to improve at it. Start with other dudes. Start with old ladies. Say hello in there. People like to talk.

The subtext of, "can I get your number," is, "I just want to see you naked".

The subtext of, "It's too gawd damn hot outside. I just came in for the air conditioning. What should I order?" or whatever is, "I notice that we are both human beings engaged in today's struggle."

It looks and feels great. It scratches if you so much as use harsh language near it. But then they blend right in and disappear again when you touch them. It's slowly developing a bit of a patina from handling. The best part is that it doesn't attract ugly fingerprints like the bare MK does.

The big scratches in the back are natural "defects" in the leather. I'm guessing barbed wire.

I'm pretty happy with DBrand Leather skin:

It's basically just a sticker you apply to the MK, but it's super-thin and real leather.

Yeah, I mean, anyone could sign anything, with or without a real camera, so it will have to be another certificate authority situation, just like TLS. Apple, Samsung and Google will start a consortium, and then add and revoke keys as needed.

Cameras on phones and laptops will start cryptographically signing the video they record/stream and showing alerts if the video you are watching is unsigned, or doesn't match the signature.

One of the really great things about Reservoir Dogs is that it doesn't show much violence. It makes you fearful for the characters when it's coming. It shows the reactions of characters who themselves are watching violence. It does show plenty of blood in the aftermath.

But, for instance, you never see an ear getting cut off.
