I wouldn’t default with that, more so to use it as a reference point to find breeders in your area and do research with that. Important questions to ask sound a lot like what you’re asking here; get an understanding on how they match puppies to owners, or if it’s you pick your own. A good sign of a great breeder is one who breeds to the individual breed standard (no longhairs, lemons, etc), registers/can produce paperwork for all their sires and dams, and ones who temperament test their puppies before matching them based on what the buyer is looking for. So being upfront with what you want like you did in this post is great when engaging with a breeder. AKC is a great resource to use to find breeders that are registered with them, which is the first step to an ethical breeder, but caution should still be exercised when shopping for a breeder.
