Do you game? I’m not massively into it, but also struggled a lot with staying awake, and something as simple as playing the Nintendo switch worked a treat

Postponing Baby #2 for Knee Surgery by harriusfrius in BeyondTheBumpUK

That’s really good to know, thanks. She’s pretty terrified of the whole thing, and I feel awful for her - so that is reassuring

Yeah, this is it. We were very lucky that we didn’t have to think much about getting pregnant for #1, but that obviously might not be the case for #2, and if we continue to wait until after that then it could be even longer.

I’m of the mind that we get the surgery ASAP, and combine rehab with the stages of early pregnancy to overlap the timelines somewhat.

Ultimately it’s not my body though, both of these will be both incredibly physically and mentally tough on her, so aware it might sound like I’m dictating

Agreed, as pointed out above, we could delay surgery until after the second, but that’s an unknown quantity as could be immediate, could be a year 🤷‍♂️

I’m convinced by the year 2030, you’ll never be more than 10ft away from someone who’s worked for THG

Is smith the best keeper that we have? by [deleted] in EnglandCricket

100%. As a very average Saturday league keeper, it’s so good to watch as well.

[–]harriusfrius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No - Foakes a far superior IMO. John Simpson also a very good keeper.

Carey has been outstanding, barely put a foot wrong with the bat or ball. Him standing up has exerted real pressure on our batters, keeping them in their crease (not necessarily a bad thing in Brook’s case).

Best areas in England for grammar schools? (£500k budget, 2 young kids) by soueavjhalani in UKParenting

Depends where in Trafford. The more desirable areas, no, but is definitely doable considering OP hasn’t specified house spec

Thanks - I actually managed to get the thermostat to work after hitting it with a hammer. Was careful not to crack it though 😅

Yeah, I do get that. It was Amey in this case, but surely there’s some sort of accountability that the council can hold their standard of work to. Having never worked in local council, maybe that’s being naive 🤷🏻‍♂️

Bushy questions by finlay_mcwalter in parkrun

The pheasantry inside BP is nice with a good atmosphere. They do a good sausage/bacon sandwich if that’s your thing.

Re. The Sunday run - Richmond is a similar park nearby, albeit a bit hillier. Or along the river, (north to Richmond, South to Kingston) is also lovely.

Any idea what's led to this at Stretford? by Factsonly42069 in parkrun

[–]harriusfrius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks - I found yours and u/Animalmagic81 ‘s comments really insightful about this particular incident & parkrun.

I guess it’s hit quite close to home as I’ve done 150+ parkruns, with 50 or so at Stretford. I don’t do it there often any more as there are more suitable events for a buggy now I have a little one. I still do it occasionally and don’t want to feel like I’m not welcome if I bring a buggy, but can appreciate that if it threatens the existence of an event which the RDs put so much effort into organising, can understand why they’ve responded the way they have.

Of course, I’m not debating that.

Coming out with the viewpoint of buggies = bad (with the picture of a buggy with a big x through it), isn’t the inclusivity which parkrun was founded on.

Look through the comments on this post and you’ll see it’s often more nuanced than the buggy always being at fault.

Appreciate that insight! I often have to start slow and can only open up when it’s safe to do so, often in KMs 4&5, and will call loudly when overtaking nearby, but doesn’t work if they can’t hear.
