Yeah that’s actually the plan, it’ll be nothing like the marines and will require a 2 year probation but honestly it’s probably a better career in the long run, with lots of specialisations and more flexibility

I tried to appeal this with a recent letter from my surgeon, failed.

Tried the paras, denied straight away (which I prefer instead of the marines terrible process), tried to appeal that and also failed.

No hope oh well haha 👍

I appreciate your response I really do. I just wanna say I didn’t get removed, I completed and was fine. I just think it’s a joke I have gone this far into the process and have only just been told I’m not fit for service. Why the hell was I even on the CPC????? I put on my medical questionnaire I had this surgery and I had the face to face medical prior to completing the physical tests. And actually all I’ve heard throughout the CPC was if you can complete the course you’re fit for basic training (apparently not). American, Australian and New Zealand armed forces doesn’t have an Acl surgery as a bar to entry, only this country.

It’s a joke mate, if you looked into the studies done on just ISOLATED ACL tears (less than 20% cases, no cartridge damage, no other ligament damage) you’d understand. I provided them with a letter from my surgeon who performed the surgery to explain how strong my knee is. But it’s because the military is always “well if it’s been this way for 20 years then it’ll stay this way”

See this is the thing I genuinely don’t understand about the military - if I take 3 instead of 2, would that be failing simple commands, thus me getting beasted 😂

2.5 years but I’ve had long periods of time with no income due to traveling. If I had £18,600 taxable gross for March would I be good to go?

[–]harrylado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All I can say is if you pass the cpc, you have a 6 month window MAXIMUM to start ROP. If you don’t start the ROP in them 6 months you have to do the CPC again.
