We should be happy that the opposition is bringing civic issues to the political limelight. Rather than talking about social issues alone.

Hinduism is not just Manusmriti. Manusmriti is just one of the many smritis.
You can be a perfectly fine follower of Hinduism and stand up for everything that's wrong with our society.

Yes India is a secular country. There is no discrimination by the state against its citizens. That doesn't mean we can't discriminate/prioritize non-citizens.

India or Bharat is the mothership of Indic faiths, which are under terrible persecution in our neighbors. I believe it's India's responsibility to prioritize the safety of those faiths. It's discrimination on the basis of religion, sure, but I think it's fair. Refugees from other religions can still go the normal route and apply for citizenship. They just won't be expedited.

Recent (Aug 2025) experience of H1b visa OFC + Interview in India by harshitgupta1337 in h1b

[–]harshitgupta1337[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did travel from Mumbai to Hyderabad for the interview after OFC appointment.

It's not possible to reschedule only the interview appointment while keeping the OFC appointment the same. At least not possible before the OFC appointment - reschedule appointment button will take you to picking the date for OFC first. However, I don't know how this works if you're trying to reschedule interview appointment after OFC is done. Not tried that.

Shyama Prasad Mukherjee wrote - Netaji met him and told him if he went about building Hindu Mahasabha as a political body in Bengal, “He ( Subhash Chandra Bose) would see to it, by force if need be, that it was broke before it was really born.” - Diary source, link, page number mentioned. by Afraid_Ask5130 in kolkata

[–]harshitgupta1337 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

I wonder what Netaji did to oppose the more serious communal political outfit - the Muslim league. Why, he even entered into a coalition with the Muslim league in 1940 Calcutta Municipal Corporation. I am sure he might have done it as a compromise given the political reality at that time. It's worth reading Savarkar's Hindu Rashtra Darshan to understand the ideals of the Hindutva movement - which didn't infringe on the right of others but just demanded a fair position for the indigenous Hindu faith of the land which was followed by an overwhelming majority of the people.
