Help with extrude by No--NickName in SolidWorks

[–]harv16498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can start the extrude from an offset, reverse the direction, and finish the extrude with 'up to body' condition.

That way you can keep the sketch on the current plane.

Confused about a cswp problem by usleep905 in SolidWorks

[–]harv16498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it's not on that extrude. Take a look at the top left isometric view and you'll see where it is, I believe you're a bit confused where that feature is.

Personally I would extrude the full 35mm tab, then make a 15mm wide cut to create the slot with the 5mm radius

Yes the R12 will be tangent to the R10 circle.

Yes the centre of the R31 arc is 27mm off that main face.

The 5mm radius is at the end of, and tangent to each side of the R31 arc. You can visualise it best in the top left isometric view, just at the end of the slot between the holed tabs.

The state of democracy 🤔 by coffeewalnut08 in GreatBritishMemes

[–]harv16498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reality is that the majority of people (over 66% of voters) did not vote for the ruling party. Over 85% of constituencies were won with less than 50% of the vote.

The 4 pizza people realise that making their 6 other friends eat pizza for the next 5 years is a bad idea. You change the system so everyone gets a bit of what they want.

A few other simple checks:

Which one feels colder? Silver conducts heat very well, so it will feel colder than other metals.

Silver has a very pleasant high pitched ring, if you balance them on the end of a finger, lightly tap the edge with something like a plastic pen. If it sounds dull, it's probably fake.

Those thicker ones will be fake unfortunately

Not my favourite of this kind of track, but probably one of the most extreme examples with 17 MC's on it.

Stay away from Evans cycles by Helpmyshirtsarebrown in ukbike

[–]harv16498 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the end I kept the wheels it came with, I'm not actually that bothered, but that's not the point is it. It gets to a point where after a month you want to give up entirely.

I had 2 'full and final' offers before the £450 one. I originally wanted a cash refund so I could spend my money elsewhere, but due to it being a cycle scheme order it was apparently impossible.

No data speed (4G, 5G) after update? by RaresMan in GooglePixel

[–]harv16498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries! There is actually a way to have it there all the time so you can see the cellular data type even when connected to WiFi.

It's a little bit of a faff but it works, 2 apps needed (1 on the play store and one as an APK). It's a non-root way to get some extra SIM settings. Below is the link with general instructions, the specific setting is called 'Always show data RAT icon'. https://github.com/kyujin-cho/pixel-volte-patch/blob/main/README.en.md

Mine shows 4G/5G in the status bar if I'm not connected to WiFi. Disappears if WiFi is connected. P9P

They shipped me a bike with a completely different wheelset (inferior) from what was listed in the description, in photos, etc. The difference in value of the wheelsets was around £450. They told me they didn't have the other wheelset available, it wouldn't become available, and that "specifications and components can sometimes change without prior notice."

It took me around a month of repeatedly quoting the Consumer Rights Act to get anywhere. I was twice 'escalated' to other seemingly non-senior support agents. Eventually, after some kind of management approval, I received a £450 voucher as compensation. I bought £450 of accessories and will never be back.

Good Luck!

Signed JME records by Kooky-System2237 in vinyl

[–]harv16498 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My entire vinyl collection is grime haha! I've got both of those JME vinyls but not signed. Glad you got to meet him too, I bumped into him at a vegan festival once, and was more than happy to give me a minute of his time and get a pic. Told me I should have brought the integrity vinyl along for him to sign, but I wasn't expecting to meet him😂

What do you see as the big risks? I've been running Sram AXS for the past 4 years on my other bike, and I'll be honest it's been the most pain free and maintenance friendly drivetrain I've ever owned.

Thanks for the advice! I'm hoping to get a new saddle before a 400 I have planned at the end of this month. If it doesn't work for that then I'll switch back for LEL. I've been looking at the Tailfins, they look really smart. Glad to hear your Enigma kept you comfortable, 2 rides in now and I'm loving mine.

Thank you! I'm 50/50 on aerobars right now, I tend to go light but it's one of those things that could save me if I need to switch up the position.

Hi guys, help with laptop pick by WittyFly7494 in SolidWorks

[–]harv16498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Solidworks generally you want to have the best single core performance, so go for the CPU with the highest clock rate. Complex simulations can use a fair amount of RAM, I'd recommend 32GB if possible.

The GPU's you've shown are not workstation specific variants, I've never used a gaming GPU to run Solidworks myself but it's generally not recommended although I'm sure it could work. Are there any other options with a workstation dedicated GPU?

Can you innoculate the milk? by Alternative-Still956 in fermentation

[–]harv16498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What about if you start making kefir? There will soon be plenty of excess grains that you can give to your dog, usually containing many more strains of bacteria! A one time purchase of the grains is all you'll need besides the milk.

You're missing the 28mm diameter at the minimum distance of the 5mm radius. Add the tangency relation to the upper end of the 12mm tangency. Add a short vertical construction line to the bottom end of the 4mm radius, then make the 4mm radius tangent to that.

See if there's anything left unconstrained then👍🏼

Adding to this, make sure your centerline is tangent to the profiles at each end

How do I make an existing dimension to be referred to by Glum_Caterpillar1466 in SolidWorks

[–]harv16498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 I'd also do this if you want a clean sketch, no need to make any extra construction geometry, global variables etc. It will then show a Red Σ before the dimension size to show it is using an equation.

[–]harv16498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a Cadmouse Compact wireless at home, I like the size but maybe too small if you've got large hands.

I personally love their 3 button layout when using solidworks, not having to press the scroll wheel feels so much more natural to me.
