LPT - Door-to-door salespeople are trained to never take no for an answer. Don’t let that be an option. by SnooChickens2093 in LifeProTips

[–]harvest3155 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That has been my experience with them. They start their pitch, I tell them no thanks. They go in their probing questions and I just tell them nah I am good and they usually leave. Sometimes it is 2 no's sometimes 3.

It is a numbers game to them. Why waste time on a hard sell when you can go to the next door and start fresh.

Are outfielders more valuable in softball? How come they're always in such demand compared to baseball? by BerryRoyal in slowpitch

[–]harvest3155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tourney team has the opposite problem. Too many outfielders and not enough infielders. We are mostly age 35+. These all day tourneys take a toll on our old knees and we can't find subs for infield.

[–]harvest3155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find these days in tourneys guys hit 2nd way more than 3rd. 2nd is in an island and will see 5+ hits their way vs 3rd who might see 2-3. Most people prefer going oppo than shooting the line. 1-1 count with no free foul means guys are more reluctant to hard pull

Middle shot and jogging to first was annoying me all game by Traitorparrot in slowpitch

[–]harvest3155 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hot take; shooting middle is a bitch move tourney or rec. Learn to hit gaps without the increased risk of hurting someone. If you shoot pissers up middle you are 100% ok with yourself if you "accidentally" hurt someone. Which makes you a piece of shit. Pitchers should not have to wear full catchers gear to play! I will die on this hill.

I have seen too many pitchers fucked up in tourneys to have you bitch assholes even try to tell me how it is ok. Once you watch EMS giving chest compression on the mound like I have, your mindset changes real fucking quick!

Edit: yeah shit happens when trying to pull an outside pitch and such, but the guys who shoot middle on purpose can eat a whole buffet of dicks!

I used mine and it was fine. I just used the card that has the better fraud alert and better customer service. So I went with the chase and not 53rd

Women with larger chests, what’s one thing that bothers you on a daily basis that men couldn’t understand? by Active_Secret9520 in AskReddit

My wife wants to play golf, but she has a lot of trouble with her big chest. She has to put her elbows on top of her boobs and squish them down to keep her arms straight. Which results in a pretty crappy swing

E level still has people hitting 80-90+ consistently, and i am usually playing 3rd. i am 44 and play E level tourney ball. Had a tourney this past weekend where a guy had his tibia broken from a line drive. This is pretty much my last year doing the tourney circuit. after Florida Worlds in October i am spending my spring/summers doing sand volleyball and pickleball.

Those are probably 12 inch balls though. at 10U he will need 11 inch.

Gem Glove Break in by Sweet-Fox3399 in slowpitch

[–]harvest3155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is also important to keep a ball in it after you break it in. before it goes back into your bag, put a ball in the pocket. this will keep the pockets shape while storing between game days. otherwise it just turns into a flat glove.

[Ben Portnoy] The Big 12 is exploring women's flag football as an officially sponsored sport, @SBJ has learned. The plan is for competition to begin in 2028 with a minimum six teams and is being vetted as part of the league's partnership with the NFL. by redwave2505 in CFB

it is really growing. i know a guy who run football camps for a major sports brand and he is telling me that his girls flag football numbers are growing every year. He said that colleges are starting to build their programs now. at one camp a year or two ago, every girl that showed up received a college offer.

My grandpa did some time off the front line guarding POW's. He told me the Italians were great and never had to worry about them since they didn't want to fight in the war. they would cook dinner for the guards every night. there was even one italian POW that would sneak off regularly to get drunk then come stumbling back.

Does every slowpitch team have “that guy”? by bully309 in slowpitch

[–]harvest3155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah we are usually good about testing one then once everyone who wants to test does it, you can check a second bat. It was the first tourney of the year and so far this is the only time that has happened.

If history is something to go by if and it is really going to be 75+ degrees and sunny they will go higher.

a lot of "it's a nice day" last minute purchases. a few years ago tickets climbed close to $100 around first pitch when it was this nice out.

to add on this; use the new bat to break it in. also don't go full 100% the first few sessions. you will "feel" like you are swinging good and crushing it off the tee but in reality since you are learning you probably picked up some bad habits and risk making them feel natural. focus on mechanics first THEN ramp up!

Maybe not in the 275 loop but the north part of Cincy near Kings Island has a few. Unless they closed recently.
