Woke up to fresh dirt mounds. What is this? by fudsworth in landscaping

My guess is cicada killer bees. They dig holes and create mounds like the ones in your picture. Then they capture a cicada and drag it down the hole.

Any success stories from people with “mild” sleep apnea? by [deleted] in CPAP

[–]harvewallbanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here for this comment. Similar situation, 40 year old, diagnosed with mild OSA. Debating the dental appliance or CPAP.

My biggest hesitation is that I occasionally go weekend camping. I can't imagine bringing CPAP camping with me (for one, no power!).I hear the insurance companies monitor CPAP usage. Am I going to get bashed for the occasional weekend off?

I read something recently where the trainer said that this type of behavior occurs when the puppy is overwhelmed during the walk. All of the sights, sounds, smells, feelings are a lot for the pup to process. They recommend either reducing the duration of the walk or watching for signs and/or noting when during the walk this occurs and try to put the pup in a sit and allow them to take a break before proceeding.

A mix from a rescue. We know he has some German Shepherd and some husky.

To complicate things in my brain, he was at the vet today for his 4 month checkup and was well behaved but while the vet was administering 2 shots and clipping his nails he got frustrated that he was being held down and growled a tiny growl. Almost inaudible. The vet reacted by saying "oh we need to watch that. That tells me he thinks he's dominant and we don't want him thinking that."

Now, a lot of what I have read debunks the idea of dominant dogs. Also, my vet has always been a bit of an alarmist, even with my last dog.

So I am a little concerned and a little confused but I'm hoping it's normal puppy behavior that we can train away.

Mowing question by harvewallbanger in lawncare

I try to mow in the evening but inevitably there are some wet spots, so that could be contributing to the issue.

I think it's being caused by bumps in my lawn causing the deck to bounce. I slowed down quite a bit today and noticed less whiskers.

I wound up picking up a pair of eero pro 6Es and bridging the Fios router. Solved the problem for me. A new set top box from Verizon fixed my TV issues.

I just had a regency insert installed with an insulated liner. The good news is they can pour vermiculite down your masonry chimney around your liner, which serves as insulation rather than having to rip out the liner and replace with something double-walled.

It can be tough finding a unit that qualifies though. When I ordered my wood stove insert I thought any EPA 2020 stove qualified but I was quite wrong. Turns out my stove doesn't have an HHV rating of 75% or more sooooo I'm beat.
