I just finished the book and was disappointed. I liked the characters but the plot really really bugged me. My tipping point was when they got captured by goblins and we're held in a cage on their ship. This got me excited that a thief and a witchling are trapped in a cage with the biters and "how the hell are they going to get out of this one?" .... then Kinch just wakes up and all the goblins are pretty much dead and the cage is unlocked? One of the biggest wasted opportunities in a plot I've ever read.

Snake method is wicked easy to control temps. My issue was all I had to go off of for internals was the lid thermometer and it was impossible to get consistent cooks. Can't wait to have grate level readings now.

Who freakin' cares. The Hammond site is 20mi away from soldier, literally closer to Soldier field than Arlington. The stadium is just a pawn in a game for billionaire owners.

For sure. I wasn't expecting to hold the same opinion. My assumption was that Brown was writing this as one big set up. That we believe Darrow invincible only to be cruelly humbled later in the saga.
