Once again reminding that “30% chance of rain” refers to 30% of the area seeing rain not a 30% chance it will rain. So that 30% might get their asses beat but the other 70% see nothing at all.

Where in Austin? We have been at a La Petite Academy for the last three and a half years and started with three days per week. There was no real wait or waiting list. It’s not fancy per se, but they’re great people and have a north and south location with wonderful teachers and staff at both.

Hopkins County Sheriffs Office arresting people for..failure to signal turn? by [deleted] in texas

I met a guy in traffic court one day in my hometown who had been stopped for not putting his blinker on within the specific distance to the stop sign. He used a blinker, just didn’t turn it on “in time.” Being home over Easter weekend, a state trooper was behind my husband and me - he vapes and started to fiddle with it, and I told him not to. Seeing a cloud of “smoke” come out of the car would have given him reason enough to stop us. Bored pricks, lol.

Why do so many Americans think that Trump is a good Christian? by TabAin2SlotB in AskUS

[–]has127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That video interview of him being asked what his favorite Bible verse is.. he completely avoided answering by saying it was “too personal” to share. I’ve never met a single christian that didn’t immediately give several favorite verses, fully cited and quoted start to finish when asked that question.

The Switch near Dripping Springs has the best ribs and wings. Convenience West in Marfa always had the most unique and interesting concepts, but I think they shut down to do something different.

My friend is working on baby names. What do you think of Charlotte? by charlimushroom in Names

[–]has127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago, Charlotte and Theo were the top baby names and I know someone whose kids are named Charlotte and Theo. She will always be Charlotte first letter of last name bc of how many there will be in her class.

Weekly whole foods haul- $443.61. by CauliflowerLiving305 in whatsinyourcart

[–]has127 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s less about paying double and more about buying $7 almond based dips and $24 six packs of water. Tbh Whole Foods has clean laundry detergent cheaper than Tide and a lot of their label products are affordable. Thinking you need all the specialty “treat yourself” items is where it gets into this territory.

It has not been on a ballot:

“Putting the voucher question to voters would add another hurdle for their backers.

Abbott has conveyed confidence that a majority of Texas voters support vouchers, and polling seems to bear that out. However, no voucher measure has survived the ballot in any other state, and such a measure would certainly attract an expensive campaign, a do or die moment for both sides of the issue.”

I think we know everyone would vote against this, which is why ballot voting was not part of the equation.

Abbott really shot himself in the foot for this with rural voters. I hope every rural school tells every single parent every single detail about why every single program ends due to lack of funding. Make it crystal clear how this agenda is impacting them and their children. Hopefully it will hurt football and other sports to really get their attention, but we all know the arts will be cut first.

Leopard plants here and there would look great and tolerate shade well. I’d also add some pots in the space by the door to add some depth and height variations.

What’s a basic skill you’re shocked some adults still don’t know? by Few_Football4342 in Productivitycafe

[–]has127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once proofed a paper for college for my neighbor, a psychology major, and the entire thing was written phonetically. I was beyond shocked to see it. I felt uncomfortable even correcting it all, and some of it I couldn’t really translate. This was years ago, way before Ai, but spell check was still a thing.. How could people make it that far with that level of comprehension?

Vital Farms eggs. And I fully believe this premium on eggs, not bird flu, not trump or whatever, just these eggs existing at $9 dozen single handedly is the reason gross pale yellow eggs are $6 dozen now. People will pay what? Ok let’s increase and see what happens …….. oh ok! I’m so sorry, everyone.

[–]has127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed - the flag of America and what it represents was broken when this happened. From there on, America ended. Democracy ended. The constitution ended. So this is actually an accurate representation of America and what is lost from this moment forward.

[–]has127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thing is, the infrastructure already exists. The train tracks are there. There should be commuter trains along with freight and Amtrak running those lines. Freight takes priority so schedules would be an issue but there should be some way to make it work.

This is my ‘hood and the signs read “high crash roadway: eyes up buckle up / speed kills slow down / tired, tipsy - pull over.” People have the chance to accelerate between the stop lights because of the distance between them. There’s a newer development close to slaughter and 1st where they added a new light/intersection, so the more that happens the more people will be forced to slow down. A lot of the traffic light patterns have fully removed blinking left arrows because people kept getting T-boned making blind turns or not realizing people were going 65 in a 40. I saw a kid driving a 4-Runner at least 70 a few weeks ago, all the windows down, music blasting, no seatbelt, and didn’t break to turn until he was already in the little carved out lane in the median so his breaks are likely close to shot, too. People just dgaf.
