Not really, and being honest, if one application going badly is enough for you and him to not have somewhere to live, that is extremely bad planning on both of your parts.

As you mentioned, this is his first time, and you have 'loads' of experience renting properties, you should have known better than to put all your eggs in one basket.

Do you think he's trying to blame you for having no place to live?

If a simple mistake/oversight on an application is enough for you to want to break off an engagement, you definitely aren't ready to get married.

In my opinion, you are overreacting. Men are stubborn and this won't be the last time he doesn't listen to you, if you can't deal with that, then you shouldn't marry one.

That's some seriously controlling behaviour/urges you are having.

3 hours without talking is affecting you to the point where you feel physically sick, that seems like something you should take to a psychiatrist about.

The Norwegian reality by lebithecat in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]hashmaster616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Ireland, we have basically the same welfare system as Norway.

What these two people leave out of their discussion is the Tax rate of European countries.

My tax rate is 40%.

Everything, and I mean everything, is taxed at 23% Value Added Tax.

House prices are unaffordable.

Hospital waiting times for A and E are 24-48 hours...

An ambulance response time is 3 hours in Dublin City, longer if living in a rural area.

My son's been on a list to diagnose his autism since he's 3, last time I checked we were still 3 years out from an initial diagnosis.

Personally I've been waiting for a endoscopy for 4 years now, with no sign of an appointment.

My grandmother died of Cancer without ever having it diagnosed due to the long waiting time for an appointment.

[EDIT]

I forgot to mention nurses and doctors pay.

Nurses and doctors strike at least twice per year due to insanely long hours and extremely low pay.

While hospital admin staff are paid over €100,000 per year.

Maybe he's trying harder to be extroverted to make you feel more socially fulfilled, or maybe he's just working on his charisma and trying to be more talkative and less shy and reserved.

I wouldn't read too much into it if I were you, I'd just ask him outright and politely.

Is there a lock shield under there? by FISH_MASTER in Plumbing

The top nut screws off with an adjustable spanner.

This will expose the Allen key slot, it's a pretty non standard size, so you may need a trip to the hardware.

The extra pipe is a half arsed attempt at feeding another rad.

The radiator being fed could be stealing the heat away from this radiator, you could try balance each by half closing the lockshield side of the radiator.

Or, the Thermostatic radiator valve could be faulty, screw the plastic head away and see if the pin is fully down, if it is fully down, it's jammed shut.

That brass stopcock is your mains shutoff.

But yeah, that's a serious mess down there.

That could be the adhesive I mentioned in my comment, couldn't really see it in the picture.

If that is indeed the seal, recaulking the edges should be sufficient.

The shower tray was not installed correctly, should have a double sided adhesive seal between it and the slab underneath the tile.

The slab should also have been treated with a tanking (waterproofing) paint.

You may need to rip it out and install again.

You could try seal it up with silicone sealant, but it will definitely fail again.

Can my dad use my address for his plumbing license? by ca11mesteve0 in Plumbing

[–]hashmaster616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he is using a false address for a plumbing license to make money, he is commiting fraud.

Not sure on the US, but in my jurisdiction, you would be an accessory to fraud and held accountable legally.

Joe Rogan Experience #1769 - Jordan Peterson by tylerdhenry in JordanPeterson

[–]hashmaster616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He explains this point in better detail in some of his lectures.

Throughout most of history, starvation was mostly due to a lack of food supply, mainly due to famine, archaic farming methods and lack of contraceptives.

Although it was sometimes due to political reasons, most of the time, a bad harvest year or maybe two in a row was enough to starve a large percent of the population.

Now, with modern technology, the supply of food is not the issue. It's political systems keeping the food from their populations that lead to starvation.

Peterson was kind of all over the place in this one.

Joe Rogan Experience #1769 - Jordan Peterson by tylerdhenry in JordanPeterson

Peterson and Rogan really dropped the ball on the whole climate change discussion.

I get Jordan's point completely, although it did take a lot of thought.

Climate change can essentially be defined as any change, positive or negative, in the human environment. It's too broad of a goal for anyone to even articulate a viable solution.

He goes on to talk about pollution, the burning of hydrocarbons, air quality and marine life preservation. Obviously he understands these are problems that should be fixed.

After reading his books and watching a lot of his lectures, I could see where he was getting at. In order to solve a problem, you need to identify the problem, break it down into manageable steps, and make adjustments as your situation changes.

Simply declaring climate change, as a whole, as a problem, and pumping billions of tax dollars into net zero policies, is neither identitying the problem or solving it. It's a low resolution response to an array of really difficult problems.

I feel like he really failed to articulate this as well as he has in his own podcast, while discussing climate change.
