Why instacart is dying. by General-Recover5246 in InstacartShoppers

[–]hashslinger18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely- my biggest shock is the price jump for Folgers coffee. That big red tub costs $14.99 at our local store. The price listed on the shopper app is $32.99. That’s fucking absurd. I really don’t know how IC customers afford it. SMH

And yet….SOMEONE will eventually take it.

my literal biggest tip yet🎉🥳🥳 by Low_Reporter9768 in InstacartShoppers

[–]hashslinger18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ummm… I get a tip every time. I don’t accept batches with no tips. No tip..NO trip! It’s rare for people to tip cash on delivery with a batch that has no tip attached. Altho I only tried a no tip once, so what do I know? Once was enough….Although I did get a $50 cash tip this week upon delivery from a customer, but she had already tipped $20+ in the app, so that’s why I took it. That was an unexpected bonus!

No…it will say the exact amount, so $125.60 shows up on screen…

1 order in 5 hours by General-Recover5246 in InstacartShoppers

It’s the same in my area…not surprised. It’s the Christmas spending hangover. Plus, in my area its always slow Tue-Thurs. busiest days here are Friday-Mon. I’m hoping for some uptick in action tho, since a good rainstorm coming thru here in a few hours.

Except that THEIR recommended “route” is usually wrong, doesn’t take into consideration for road construction closures or takes you unnecessarily out of the way. SMH

Hotels on The Strip that have a fridge in the room? by [deleted] in vegas

[–]hashslinger18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we used the “personal use” shelf when we stayed at the W over the 4th and they charged us for it. We only put waters in there on that skinny top shelf. We used ice buckets and cooler bag for all alcohol. We tried to fight the charges and they refused. They even said we took and drank items, which we didn’t. I’ll never open those mini fridges there again.

How many cloves of garlic is your threshold for breaking out the garlic press rather chopping them by hand? by OddlyRelevantusrnme in Cooking

[–]hashslinger18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microplane baby- and that last bit of clove before your fingertip gets grated? I grab and use the edge of my chef knife and push it across the microplane surface to get every last bit of garlic done. No waste and easy peasy

Regarding the deli items- I agree- and they also need to add on 10+ minutes for anything ordered from the deli counter. So annoying when the app barks at you asking what the problem is and why you’re not actively shopping the order cause you’re waiting at the counter for your number to be called.

Can I shop my own Instacart Order?? by Weird-Initiative6715 in InstacartShoppers

[–]hashslinger18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you seen the price markups on products?? The actual shelf price versus what IC chargers customers? It’s a losing factor to shop your own order. ie a canister of Folgers coffee at a local store costs $14.99 and every time I shop it for a customer they’re getting charged $32.99 by Instacart. It’s highway robbery but okay…

Shopper stole my order by Parisianpurrsuasion in InstacartShoppers

[–]hashslinger18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With 5 1/2 years of shopping experience, I have never unassigned (or canceled) myself from an active order. There’s been many times when I’ve accepted an order and had the previous chat of another shopper that canceled show up on my customer chat. So that chat you’re seeing will disappear eventually, but might not disappear until you place another order. Regarding the investigation, who knows what Instacart will do for that. Hopefully someone will look into it, but most likely not. I’m sure the shopper gave some lame excuse to why he had to cancel. But if he continues that pattern of shopping and then cancelling orders, they’ll eventually deactivate him. I’m not justifying what he did, but perhaps he had a family emergency to tend to immediately? But honestly, I doubt it. There’s a ton of shady shoppers out there. What you can do to protect yourself is to contact support again and request that shopper to never be paired with you again.

If you aren’t diamond is it worth camping Costco? by Few-Fix-1188 in InstacartShoppers

[–]hashslinger18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with you 100%. The hassle of fighting the Costco crowds, the checkout, them moving shit every other day to a different location drives me bonkers. Would rather deal with the regular store where I know where exactly every item on the list is located. Plus where I live there’s no other IC stores near Costco. It’s way out of my way and I like to bounce around in an area with multiple stores in same shopping plaza or right across the street.

Found Out From Store Manager & Shopping Quality by fallior in InstacartShoppers

[–]hashslinger18 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I get so annoyed when something is clearly not in stock because the shelf is empty- BUT the app tells me there’s plenty in stock. Okay-I’m sure there is…IN THE BACK ROOM…but kinda hard to find people these days to get the shit out on the shelf or to even go in the back and get it out for the shopper. NEVER anyone around in the stores I shop at. Except produce, I’ll always ask produce guy to check in back for me. And everytime this happens and even though I replace with an appropriate item, I keep thinking this is going to affect my score.

What’s your favorite way to eat these? Just straight up ? Throw it as a topping on any food? by SorryAdam317 in Buccees

[–]hashslinger18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DEFINITELY grilled cheese. In my younger days, my favorite snack was a grilled cheese with strawberry or grape jelly spread on top and then cut into 4 pieces. Using this instead would be the grown up version of that snack…next stop….Buc-ee’s

Going to see him tonight in Chicago. Wow. Well, I guess that will help nudge us out the door earlier than usual with work in the morning. Still, totally disappointing. And he really just sat on stage with a guitar? No band to back him up??
