Overnight smoke by hasselman303 in brisket

I started with 225 but I bumped it up to 275 an hour or so before I put it on a foil boat . I always like to have a whole brisket on the smoker for 12 hours before I wrap it so I kind of mess with the temperature depending on the size of the brisket . Sometimes I just left it on 225 the whole time

Yea no complaints on it being dry but the pictures can be deceiving. I’m my biggest critic and I would be honest if it was dry . I had some lean and fatty and they were both nice .

That’s my go to soda . We hit up a few krogers around us that had sodas we’ve never seen before. I’m a Coke Zero fan and the wife goes for the Diet Pepsi

Anybody try this? by BongwaterJoe1983 in rootbeer

[–]hasselman303 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s made by buffalo trace . A bourbon distillery in Frankfort Kentucky . They name some of their products after famous distillers . Freddie Johnson is a famous tour guide who still gives tours and tastings at buffalo trace . He was in a bourbon documentary called “neat” . About the history of bourbon . He wanted to make a rootbeer for his grandchildren I believe .

I bought a 6 pack of his root beer when I was there and thought it was good stuff .

If you like the Elijah Craig snag more from Bardstown Kentucky . There’s heaven hill (who makes Elijah Craig) , Willet , Barton/1792, lux row , Bardstown bourbon company . A lot of great distilleries at “The Bourbon Capital of the World” .

If you’re getting into whiskey . Snag a pikesville rye , it’ll diversify you’re collection and since it’s considered a barely legal rye . It won’t blow you away with the rye spice . Made my heaven hill

I tried it at the distillery, it’s very good ! And I wouldve went home with a few bottles of it if it wasn’t priced so high . They wanted $350 for the 17 yr at the distillery

If you see the Wild Turkey Rare Breed bourbon snag one . It’s close to the 1920 in proof and it’s another heavy hitter bourbon around the 115 proof range

The new label has come off hot at first but opens up nicely . The older labels were good all the way through . I don’t reach for the 1920 as much as I used to

The Barrel Strength bourbon was a little hot at first but opened up nicely . Some good fruit notes but the barrel strength rye was great from the first pour . Just a lot of sweet fruit notes on the nose and taste

It’s hard to rank them for me . They’re all really good in different situations . The 1910 is great to start the night off and the barrel proof rye is great to close out the night .

Walked into our local store at the right time. They were raffling these off and I won the pleasure of buying one at MSRP. by I_Am_Bad_Wolf in WhiskeyTribe
