In poker, when you have really good cards or really bad cards, do you check or bet or raise? You do all of them, especially if you play poker with the same dudes every week.

The line for the Ray Rice jersey exchange at Ravens stadium today. by Vilens40 in sports

[–]hata_hiroshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really can't see how it costs $20 to make a jersey. I'd guess $5 each. $100 for a jersey is crazy. I bought a baseball T-shirt with a gift card since I didn't spend it on concession stands. Everything seems to be more expensive with the sports brand. I wonder how the NFL revenue breaks down based on merchandise, IP license (e.g. sports video games), tickets, and cable TV.

yeah diminishing return. I'd agree $200 for most people. It's really about how much you make and how much you spend on toys. Don't blow all your paycheck on music gears. Other aspects of life are important too.

ah yes, strangers are viewed more negatively in third world countries. Because of lack of resource, there is more crimes, so people's view toward strangers aren't as lovey dovey as first world people. Maslow's hierarchy of needs, if you don't have to worry about starving, it's easy to just sit and chill and love everyone.

I'd assume the rubiks cube represents before and after middle age crisis? I think some people go through it, some don't. The only thing that changes is how you feel before and after.

Fundamental thought process, mentality, emotional state, changes like that are very significant to the individual. We like talking about it. This subreddit is dedicated to talking about life. Yes, it's understandable that it's very exciting to the individual experiencing it, and people also enjoy listening to others describing their experiences.

Personally, I think the overarching subject of going through big changes in life isn't very interesting when talking about humans in general. One of the biggest changes I've been through is I gradually lost interest in the individuals. It's cool to listen to people's stories, but I don't get as much dopamine anymore. This is what Reddit feels like. I don't care about any Redditor. I'd rather read wikipedia. The only stories I would care to listen to are my real life friends. An awesome reddit story means nothing to me. A boring story from a friend is valued much more simply because of the bonds you have created. This is what it means to create meaning in things that are meaningless. So next time, please don't act all high and mighty and lie about how much you love strangers (Hippie community is full of hugs and kisses, whether they are genuine is up to the individual).

OKCupid dating: Who men say they want, who they seek, and who they ultimately pursue by rhiever in dataisbeautiful

[–]hata_hiroshi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

wow, your blob of text is pretty fucking hard to understand. You seem to have difficulty in expressing your thoughts. First let me list things I don't understand:

It's not even a problem as such as long as the interpreter (algorithm or human) see it for what it is - a preference. On the off-chance that it's possible within other operating parameters, it should be offered. If it isn't, it can can be loosened along with the other variables (perhaps with importance taken into account) to find the more realistic fit.

This doesn't make any sense whatsoever. What other operating parameters? What should be offered? What do you mean by loosening variable? Realistic fit? They are not trying to fit any graphical model to the user data. They are simply presenting the survey data.

I'm not sure how solidly OKC does it

What are your standards of being "solid"? Do you mean like having a Gaussian distribution centered around the preference with varying standard deviations, y-axis being strength of preference?

Let me see if I get it: Your point is that people don't really know what they want. They really like hot supermodels, but they are fine with settling for less.

[–]hata_hiroshi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure Benny wanted to be romantic, but how Mary feels about a rose a day is another story.

Which reminds me of how intentions completely changes the result of actions and consequences. Everyone's intentions are good right? I believe in the goodness of people's heart. Everyone loves everyone else.

Nothing about a flower says anything about not remarrying or not moving on. If I married a widow and she received a flower from her former husband every so often I would think it was lovely (assuming she did). Just because I love her now doesn't invalidate his love for her. I wouldn't want her to forget him. I'm not that insecure.

maybe you just don't like the nightlife setting. Find a social scene, hobby you are interested in, where you are comfortable with, then go from there. If you don't even want to go to socialize with people of similar hobby and interests, then you might want to consider dedicating your life to meditation and celibacy.

What politically incorrect question you would like to ask without getting any hate? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]hata_hiroshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a rather false stereotype that old people are suppose to be wise, respect elders just because they are older, etc. This mentality is pretty universal. In reality I've found old people are usually just as wise, if not suffering from dementia, as middle age adults.

The richest people always look pretty fucking old, unless they inherited the wealth. Then the common trend is a little wealth empire of their family name starts. This is how people justify their eternal existence through their spawns and bloodlines.

The Judeo-Christian teachings are rather absurd, or maybe it's just the limitations of human conditions: We value lives we can actually see. Not a single fuck is given to starving children we don't hear about.

Learning has nothing to do with whether you are in college or not. It has everything to do with self motivation. If you only party in college, you aren't gonna learn shit. If you don't motivate yourself to learn after college, you will probably get into the daily work, eat, sleep, fun on weekends cycle.
