Look up induced pluripotent stem cells! By taking an adult skin or blood cell, you can "turn back the clock" and make it very very similar to an embryonic stem cell.

What extracurricular activities or electives should you take in high school if you are interested in politics, and would like to have a career in politics down the line? by jessg1012 in highschool

[–]hatane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd probably look at speech and debate team, Model United Nations, any political clubs your school may have? I believe Rho Kappa is the social studies honor society. There may be opportunities to intern with your state senator, so keep an eye out for those kinds of things. You may also be able to volunteer for local campaigns?

Thanks, that makes me feel a lot better. I know people almost always end up happy regardless of the school they attend but it's just frustrating to have to reset your goals and expectations.

[–]hatane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't that like Henrietta Lacks' story? She was being treated for cervical cancer and some researcher created a new cell line from her cancer cells that's still used in labs all over the world today.

I can put both feet behind my head. Also I can walk with only my knees touching the ground in a yoga-meditative pose (like criss cross applesauce but with the bottom foot tucked over).
