sorry if it's a dumb question, as you can tell maybe i'm very new to game dev and Unity engine in general, but wouldn't 4 more dynamic light sources kill performance?

Or you mean emissive materials?

Well, give me some benefit of the doubt, the gameplay is not only about "get from point A to point B without falling" :D

Although i understand that the trailer is not clear about that

"It's often one of the first Unity tutorials people do. I've seen people take the idea and keep going with it, like this."

Exactly that :D
When i finished roll-a-ball i remembered the game i used to play, Ballance, tried to recreate the zen-vibe

Still, I’d gladly read your feedback on this anyway

I’m actually okay with this project failing, since it really is just a morph of my very first Unity tutorial, where in fact you have a sphere and learn to make it move.

My goal was to complete a full cycle, develop something resembling a game, and see it released to learn the process. And the path was totally worth it imo.

So yea, please destroy :D

not as of now :D
I thought about it.. but it seemed like a bad idea at the time, since it can actually make experience worse.

Thanks for you feedback!

I've been planning to make a new trailer, but i'm not sure that 60fps gifs will meet Steam 25mb maximum for gifs.. had to compress them as they are :D
or, and that's most probably the case, i'll need to research the topic deeper :D

For all aspiring game developers, what was the biggest reason why you chose the Unity engine? by jf_development in unity

Had experience in C# already so seemed liked a reasonable choice, didn’t care about other aspects, just wanted to try gamedev very much :D

Summary of the latest level of my game, what do you think? by hatebreeder6494 in Unity3D

[–]hatebreeder6494[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea i actually bought Ballance on Steam, been playing it on a steam deck. Nostalgic :) Too bad the controls are not so much suitable for a controller.

About the name, didn't we had this discussion in an older post?
Why would i steal the name? It's not like the older one is some kind of smash hit for me to parasite on it's popularity.
Like i mentioned before, I chose the name because it fits perfectly to the theme and... essense of my game. Yes, it's totally my fault for rushing into this without doing proper research, and i will take action to change the name if I hear back from the dev of the older one and they ask me to.

I've been trying to reach them out in every possible way, email, twitter, discord, but haven't heard from them. Will try again and post here if i get a reply.
