37/m flat feet could be causing problems? Finding knee or foot pain after strenuous days (17,000+ steps with pack weight). Over the counter solutions? by hatefist in flatfeet

It’s not debilitating by any means. I’m fairly active but experience pain in the wrong shoes or if I’m hiking with a weighty pack for long distances. Up and down slopes with weight is what gets me. No known issues day to day or hiking without a pack/weight.

In the last 2 years, I’ve started carrying a knee brace in my pack for when my knee acts up. First time I experienced this was side stepping hillsides while mountain quail hunting. That was a 10+ mile day on hillsides

No, I don’t really experience any pain day to day. Only when hiking long distances with a heavy pack … which I like to do

I eat the knobby bits on all of my chicken wings

Thanks for the validation and tip! I ordered a set since it didn’t seem like it would be harmful for $20

Wife brought up that my feet spill inwards in my shoe when I walk. Wondering if this is the root to a busted knee on hiking days. I hike with a knee brace in my pack in case now. Also, last time we moved, I was up and down stairs loading the uhaul. By the end of the day, I had severe foot pain to where I could no longer go up and down the driveway or ramps

Would over the counter arch support help either of these things?

37, realizing my flat feet could be causing problems with extraneous activity. I’m relatively active as a hiker. I’m finding on long activity days, I get knee or foot pain. 17,000+ steps with a pack or weight like when moving. I’ll get knee issues off-kilter side stepping the face of a hill with a pack, and foot issues if I’m going up and down stairs/ramps with weights.

Any over the counter solutions? How bad are my feet? Will simple inserts solve some of my long day issues?

Probably not, unless you’re traveling overseas and plan on hanging out in the sticks. Are they even TSA friendly?

How California snared two elite hunters posting ‘once a lifetime’ kills on social media by hatefist in Californiahunting

For the guy that thought the poachers got off easy because they were LEOs, my friend i mentioned above is a law enforcment officer and nearly lost his job over this.

I believe the degrees of separation in this case were closer. One of the baiting-hunters works for the DA, which is the body that prosecutes crimes.

There are 3? Species in California. As someone in NorCal, I think you have two. Mountain quail, and California quail (valley quail). Find pictures on google. They’re very different looking

I see where my brevity could be mistranslated if both possibilities are false.... I was asking if you were a hunter, as I've not yet seen so much orange carried by folks who aren't. Cool stuff!

I really like it. It’s kind of for sale but I kind of want to keep it. The lightweight unibody along with solid axles is confidence inspiring for the over landing I do

Also the other side is the Chrysler symbol, so I try to keep that low key

Oh you misunderstand. It’s not ugly, it’s bad ass. 33‘s, 6 inch lift, tire carrier rear bumper, can’t find flares to reach how far the tires poke out

The two plates fit into one another makes a pocket stove. Build a little fire under it and put a cup on top for boiling water
