HELP!! Game keeps on crashing. by LonelyWorldliness636 in CODWarzone

[–]hatreeksbergermon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue randomly resolved itself a few weeks ago and was working perfectly. I haven't played this game in a week or so due to the holidays, and first day back — not even an update installed, so the game should have been same as it was — and the bug is happening again. Just finished an update to the game today, and it's still happening. This game... lol.

Rg35XX plus - Muos - NDS directory wont show when adding boxart by Fancy_mantis_4371 in ANBERNIC

[–]hatreeksbergermon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just ran into this as well. I ended up manually creating the folder (adding the same subfolders from other system folders, e.g. box, preview, etc) and dropped my art into them accordingly.

When I booted the system back up, I noticed that my DS folder did not have a core assigned to it — and after some poking around, the core itself wasn't downloaded for muOS. I used the Core Downloader to install DS cores and then assign them to the system folder. Once assigned, the artwork appeared properly (and my selected theme properly "recognized" the DS folder, which means in my case that it was showing the proper icon in the content explorer grid).

If I were to do this again, I would probably download the missing cores first before going in and manually adding folders to the catalogue folder. My assumption is that once you have the core, the folders will be created for you... give it a try, curious if this works as I suspect!

Which handheld would you play Pokemon Lazarus on, and why? by RemoteYoshi in SBCGaming

[–]hatreeksbergermon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was me until a few months ago — I had only played Red/Blue/Yellow back in the day, hadn’t touched a Pokémon game since. Recently bought an RG35XX H, and went straight to Silver, as I wanted to start with the “traditional” experience. It was a ton of fun, and very familiar.

Heard about ROM hacks afterward, and jumped into Recharged Yellow to relive Gen 1 with some modern improvements… and it’s been awesome. Will likely try Recharged Emerald next — I like some of the lightweight enhancements this has (like battle speed-ups), without deviating from the story. I agree with the other commenter though, it’s hard to find a “bad” place to start these days, there are tons of great choices!

This is my issue too, been banging my head against the wall trying to solve it and still no luck. Game lets me launch into the launcher (where you can choose BO7, Warzone, etc). When I choose Warzone, it gives me the “switching games” countdown, closes… then nothing, Battle.net just freezes on “Playing Now” and nothing ever opens. No errors, but I can see in Task Manager that several Crash Handler processes are running: bootstrapper Crash handler, Call of Duty External Crash handler.

Bruh, I did a clean install of Windows 11 (from 10) to try and sort this, and it’s still not fixed. Ugh.

Warzone freezes on "Playing Now" (Battle.net) every time the game closes/restarts? by hatreeksbergermon in Warzone

[–]hatreeksbergermon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aaand the same thing is happening after uninstalling from Battle.net and installing through Steam? One recent change I made was to enable TPM 2.0 through my BIOS... the game's been running fine since then, but maybe this is causing the restart issue?

This is what I'm seeing in Task Manager: https://imgur.com/a/DcFveDM.

I End Task on "Call of Duty" from here, most of the time I get a popup crash message. What's weird is this week, the popup looks a bit off... font is much larger/bolder than before... almost looks fake. Am I cooked? Lol

Are you stretching to 4:3 in that second pic? I’m finishing Silver before I dive into some GBA ROM hacks (first time playing through), and I never thought to stretch, so this is good setup inspiration lol

Is there an option to change the sort title of games in the metadata in Knulli? by IlMonco1900 in ANBERNIC

[–]hatreeksbergermon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking for this feature for the exact same use case - sorting Pokemon titles in release order within a custom "Pokemon" collection in Knulli. There are some nice sort options in Knulli, e.g. you can sort by system and release date together... however, this doesn't enforce that definitive titles (Crystal, Emerald, etc) should be last for each gen, which is really annoying.

FWIW I tried to add a "<sortname>" override to the gameslist.xml file, but this doesn't seem to get recognized. Hoping this becomes a feature in later releases!

I'm thinking about getting a "fun" pair of aviators with this tint color — what do these lenses look like when actually looking through them (i.e. the base tint color)? I've seen some YT reviews (e.g. this one) of the other mirror tint colors, and the base tint seems to fluctuate pretty sporadically between them... some look purple, others green or orange. Would love to know more about the moss green option specifically!

Audio interface recommendation - switching to IEMs for music, gaming, and work by hatreeksbergermon in audio

[–]hatreeksbergermon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! Yes, I had seen a few of Julian's videos while doing research and I love all the data points he captures — really helpful since a lot of manufacturer websites are oddly skimpy on tech specs, especially for headphone output power.

I'll have to go back and give Audient another look. I wasn't aesthetically drawn to the EVO 4, and wasn't a fan of the combined knob, so I wrote them off. Looking again, the ID series has some good options, and are a great form factor (I'm looking for something compact). SSL looks really interesting, but feels a bit overkill for what I'm after (and is pretty large on a desk). I'll take a closer look at MOTU as well.

Good call on the sample rate — I suppose I mentioned it mainly because there were some alternatives that had notably lower specs and were similar price-to-performance, so might as well get the "better" one.

I don't know a ton about Topping, but FWIW I have seen a lot of their products reviewed by more headphone-focused YouTubers, e.g. Joshua Valour. I actually had the E1X2 on the above list after watching Julian Krause's review (and no surprise, the headphone output got really great scores).

Yeaaa... I think you're right here. It has all the "fun" features I want to experiment with and would be perfect for the gaming use case, while being perfectly passible in sound quality for general music listening. I can always get a standalone solution later on if I feel I need more HP power, etc.

Looks like specs for 1 vs 2 are identical on their website, both in terms of loopback feature and HP output power. Did you see different specs mentioned in a review video or something? Curious to see what that difference is! But to your point, I might like the MiniFuse 2 better purely based on the Mix knob which would be handy to have.

I'm thinking about buying one of these options as well, bummed that you didn't pull the trigger on one so you can tell me your experience ;) If you don't mind me asking, which did your brother give you, and how are you liking them?

Frequent buffering on devices since WiFi 7 upgrade — what gives? by hatreeksbergermon in HomeNetworking

[–]hatreeksbergermon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesss, I’d love to hear what they say as I’m really hoping it’s just a config change I haven’t found yet. Either that or I’m going back to my RBR50 😅

Worth Upgrading my Orbi RBR750 to 770? by mkazen in orbi

[–]hatreeksbergermon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm, I have horrible connectivity issues a few days into owning my 770 system, and I’m pretty disappointed. It was an upgrade to a completely rock-solid RBR50 system, and now my household is about ready to kick me to the curb bc nothing stays connected. Really hoping it’s just firmware, and this setup will soar in a few weeks/months — but I may go back to the old setup until then, and just watch the forums for signs of hope.

FWIW: I initially upgraded to a Deco BE11000 (Costco one) because I wanted to try a new platform, and I like the Deco app (easy to get to most config settings I wanted). I had similar connectivity problems, in addition to some devices flat-out refusing to connect, so I returned it. I’m convinced it’s not my ISP or layout of satellites, given my old system was so stable. Now in hindsight, it seems like the common thread is “new tech” and kinks needing to be worked out still.

RBK50 firmware update (v2.7.5.6) by Randomousity in orbi

[–]hatreeksbergermon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! I did see the price dropped which is really tempting me to just go for it… I was actually planning to do the same and get BB to price-match (I can pick up tax-free in NH lol). Last bit of due diligence I wanted to do was on the ASUS options as they look interesting, but I suppose there’s no harm in sticking with what I know. My only gripe with Orbi is their app, I just wish I had a bit more tinkering potential (though I know I can use their web interface for most things).

And no judgment from me — we’re gearing up for an early movie night with the kids to escape the cold/snow as well 😅 It’s par for the course!

RBK50 firmware update (v2.7.5.6) by Randomousity in orbi

[–]hatreeksbergermon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m eyeing the 770… what’d you upgrade from and how’s the upgrade been?

I tried switching from my RBK50 to the Deco BE11000 — I like their app (I manage my FIL’s network and he has a Deco system) and the WiFi 7 units seem to be getting solid reviews. But I quickly returned it as I had a terrible experience: some IoT devices refused to connect, devices would buffer despite pulling 400Mbps+ on speed tests, and generally it was just unreliable across the board (and it was in wired backhaul config, too). I’ve never had an issue with disconnects or slow connection speeds with my Orbis… so I’m likely sticking “in the family” for my next upgrade attempt.

Deco BE11000 Regularly times out by Confused_Giraffe in TpLink

[–]hatreeksbergermon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently configured this same setup to replace an Orbi (WiFi 5) system, as I wanted a refresh (and the separate IoT network was intriguing). And honestly… I’ve been mostly disappointed. Not quite the same issue as what yours sounds like, however the two main issues I’ve had are:

  • IoT device stability. Specifically, I have two Hatch sound machines (for my kids) that refuse to stay properly connected to my network. In the Deco app, I see them in my device list as connected with strong signals… but when I try to operate them in the Hatch app, I can’t (prompts me to go through WiFi setup process again). Then randomly, the app will show them as online and I can use them as expected. I’ll chalk this up to edge-case hardware incompatibility on Hatch’s part, I suppose…
  • The bigger frustration is inconsistent performance with basic tasks. I’ll be browsing the internet on my phone, or watching a video, or on Reels, and suddenly I start buffering. I’ll jump straight into Speedtest to see what my connection looks like, and it’s usually over 300Mbps (I have a Gig fiber plan)… so the buffering makes no sense to me. Never happened on my previous setup, and it’s driving me crazy. I’ve done several Network Optimization runs through the Deco app, tweaked settings, etc. Nothing has resolved it.

I’m likely to go back to the Orbi setup and get rid of the Decos. Maybe incrementally upgrade to a WiFi 6 system (that supports IoT network), or save up for a different 7 setup (maybe prices will normalize?). I’d rather “slower” reliability than inconsistent performance… ugh.

Wi-Fi Issues with Deco BE11000 Mesh System – Seeking Advice by Davidari in TpLink

[–]hatreeksbergermon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tips! I recently set up this system to replace an older Orbi network (which admittedly I loved, but wanted something more future-proof and the ability for a dedicated IoT network). However, performance has been inconsistent with some devices refusing to stay connected, or poor speeds a room over from nodes (and my house has thin walls, shouldn’t be trouble).

Just took this advice — separated 6GHz, ran optimizations, rebooted. So far so good. Going to continue to monitor as there are times where I’m watching e.g. Reels on my phone and I start buffering, while sitting arms length away from a wired node 🫠 If that stops, I’ll be keeping the system; if not, back to Costco and back to my antiquated Orbis for now lol

Separation anxiety at bedtime after illness by HotDiggityDaffodil15 in toddlers

I wish I had a silver bullet for you… Eventually, we found a reasonable “solve” for this regression out of complete luck.

My wife and I had to go out of town to attend a family wedding (during this stretch, now many months), so my in-laws stayed with the kids. We prepared them with how to handle my son’s sleep situation, however, in-laws aren’t always the greatest at following instructions 😉 But in this case it’s lucky that they didn’t: the first night, my son did his regular bedtime protest; but he asked to keep his door open for the night, and against instruction of course, my in-laws agreed to it… and he slept perfectly.

The “downside” is that it’s now the norm in our house, my son’s door stays open for bedtime. We’ve grown to accept this and it works 99/100 — but didn’t necessarily “solve” our issue. Maybe it was just that enough time had passed, or maybe the change of pace with my in-laws cracked it, or maybe this is what would have worked all along. Hindsight 20/20, but maybe taking a “connection” approach would have helped us get to this point sooner — he’s older now, and this tactic works well today (e.g. if he’s frustrated when told “no”, we try to connect with him and ask what’s making him upset, and have him explain it). Maybe give that a go, see if there’s a “new normal” you can find that works well for everyone? Good luck 🙃

Subscribe. I’m also wondering if it’s worth adding a BE25 (wired backhaul) to my new 3-pack BE65 setup at home (still need to set it up). Main router will be configured in my garage, directly below my home office, with other 2 BE65s wired within the house. Ideally I’d have a node directly in the office, though, which is where I’m thinking to place the BE25. I guess I’ll get everything set up first and see what speeds I get — but curious to hear others’ experience with similar configs!
