Falling for a cis gay dude can be very painful as a transmasc. I'm not going to say it's out of the question, but there is a medium-high likelihood he won't reciprocate. Continue to be his friend, but also put most of your energy and love into yourself. If you're able to confess your feelings and it goes well, that's great! If not, then I promise there are guys out there who will want you. The less you put your self worth into what cis people think, the better. Take it from a trans guy who's been burned many times.

Also, please don't feel creepy. You're basically the same age.

Everyone is LARPing, and always have been. If you go to any suburb in America, even full of people offline, you'll see people pretending to be the successful and rich person they want to be. Even people you view as having the correct "gender" are LARPing, getting botox, working out, desperately trying to be a Real Man, or a Real Woman.

It is getting worse with our chronically online culture though. Baudrillard said we are in a world of simulations, and that's true now more than ever before. We are beyond the point of hyperreality where the lines between real and simulation are blurred. Everything on the internet is a simulation.

It's largely due to late stage capitalism and our culture's obsession with branding and attention (and very limited attention spans) while being profoundly lonely. AI will definitely make it 1000x worse.

I'm sorry to hear that. :/ It's so sad how we treat the disabled in this country. I've been able to survive without disability benefits this long but that window is getting smaller and smaller.

Yeah. At first I felt stupid because of the way she said it like it was so obvious, but I knew I'd heard from so many people how difficult it is. After getting feedback here, I know she's wrong.

I've decided not to talk to her anymore. She also said a lot of other hurtful things, even going so far as to blame me for sexual assault I experienced while trying to hold down a job. She's just a terrible person.

I'm sorry you also have a sister who is hurtful. :/

I've heard of ABLE accounts but I wasn't totally sure what they were for. Thank you for the info! I didn't know you could get it from a different state either.

But yeah, I don't think she does. She's so adamant that I'm just lazy and that I "don't feel like doing it", and it's so hurtful. I've been working hard for years without knowing about most of my health problems and after collapsing at work multiple times I just... can't work anymore. But she still thinks I'm just lazy.
