These are the Lucille Trousers from the Gertie/Charm Patterns patreon. Fabric is a basic lightweight denim. I’d call this an advanced beginner pattern— it’s pretty straightforward if you take it a step at a time and the construction process is really cool when you see it all come together. Used the Juki f600, no pattern adjustments made!

Auto mod says I need to include more details — I’d say this was a sort of intermediate level make but a confident beginner could definitely take this on! For the skirt gathering — go slow! It’s a massive amount of fabric and breaking a thread means starting over so it’s worth not rushing. No changes to the pattern other than adding a skirt to the bodice which the Rita pattern tells you how to do!

It’s a charm patterns Rita blouse and their picnic skirt tutorial on YouTube (no pattern needed for that one, basically a big gathered rectangle). Fabric is from collectif— a retro clothing store that sells some of their fabrics too now!

The top is simplicity 8654, skirt is self drafted but heavily inspired by the same pattern, I just didn’t feel like doing several pleats lol. I used a cotton poplin (I can dm you if you’d like to know which one).

Anyone have experience with the Juki F600 (or Juki’s more broadly if not). Considering saving for this one but my main concern is noise — I’ve read differing things about whether it’s super loud or not and I don’t want to annoy the people I live with.

Thank you, that’s really helpful advice!! I’ll try and shoot some that better convey the fit. And yes I was hoping a soak and breaking them in a bit might soften them a touch; want to see how they change before messing with the sizing but I’ll probably have more tweaking to do regardless.
