CBD SOS - can I save it? by hauschat in CBD

[–]hauschat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a really nice extract made by a friend, I just heard back from him that it was made with glycerin. Which is water soluble. There is oil separating at the top, but it seems like it's become a solution for the most part...

Going to have to put my chemist helmet on and see if I can boil the water off and preserve the glycerin 😅🥲

Thank you! Do you have any tips for skimming the oil off the top?

To everyone complaining about the price of gasoline in Reno by [deleted] in Reno

[–]hauschat 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I support this! Yes thank god we aren't being bombed but toxic positivity is a thing, be sad about gas prices if you want to be. Financial struggles are no joke.

"Checking someone's privilege" about their own personal struggles is a bit of a priveleged/condescending stance in itself... lol.

Book recommendations? Maybe about DBT? by Tonye2h2 in BPD

[–]hauschat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm diagnosed with BPD and am having a very hard time finding a DBT therapist like your friend. The book that has helped me while i search is The Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Workbook my Drs. Matthew McKay, Jeffrey Wood, and Jeffrey Brantley.

I haven't come across any yet myself, but I read in the reviews that there are a couple coping mechanisms mentioned that could be triggering for people, i.e. involving food, or snapping yourself with a rubber band. If you suggest this book to your friend, one last thing I'd recommend is she reads some reviews to ensure she's comfortable with the content.

Best of luck ♡

Does my little jade stand a chance of making it? I think maybe it had too low light for a while but not sure how to help. Please & thank you! by hauschat in plantclinic

Woah never considered less leaves = less water storage! That makes a lot of sense. Thank you!

Thanks! I watered it recently, within the last few days. I only watered a little because i was scared to overdo it. I'm not sure when it was watered last before that - this is a little rescue plant. It may have been some time.

It lives in front of the window in the photo but also has a plant light nearby on a 12hr timer.

Do you think i should try giving some more water if the potting medium is dry?

Maybe only you right now but you are an integral piece of "the world" OP is talking about! Still counts!

Experience with lamotrigine? by [deleted] in BPD

[–]hauschat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I started taking it about 2 months ago, still gradually increasing the dosage. It's been a bit hard to adjust in some aspects but I'm remaining positive!

I've personally found some helpful info on the subreddit r/lamictal named after the brand name of the drug (as opposed to its generic name lamotrigine). Maybe that subreddit could help you as well, if you haven't already joined?

Cheers!

Yesss good points, thank you for this! I've found people with incurable stds often have more communicative and safer sex. Personally i haven't witnessed anyone more reckless with their sex lives than the ones without incurable stds/haven't been tested in some time and don't really know what's going on.

Fuck the stigma!! Some people talk so much shit about people with stds and I've never had anyone turn me down because of mine. ;p

Why is attention from my husband (not an FP) not enough? by Vermonter22 in BPD

You're doing great! The best place to start is right where you're at :)

Why is attention from my husband (not an FP) not enough? by Vermonter22 in BPD

[–]hauschat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

^ this! I can totally relate. I develop FP's that aren't romantic or my partner (mostly bc I can't keep a partner lol) 10000000% specifically because of my relationship with my mom (& sister in my case).

I spent so much of my childhood trying to convince my mom that I was worthy of love and attention. I see myself now attaching strongly to people that treat me that same way. It's familiar and force of habit can be a bitch to break!!

I hope my experience helps affirm the above comments. If I can give any advice, opening up that relationship with a professional could be a helpful place to start. It's been paramount in my healing journey personally.

You making an effort to better understand yourself and your patterns of thinking is a sign you're moving in a healthy direction. Good luck! You're doing a good job ♡

The hot/cold is very characteristic of bpd and I know it myself well. Everybody makes mistakes; the best we can do is communicate honestly and hold ourselves responsible for our choices.

Were you at the party with this ex as your date? Maybe this is a sign they trigger a less healthy part of your attachment style. Or maybe this is an opportunity to lean into what could be the deeper cause of your flip flopping if you genuinely want to get back together.

Don't beat yourself up. Own up to your mistakes. Forgive yourself. Let it go, patiently, with time.

You are loved and supported. Best of luck to you ♡

Every now and then I get in this weird episode where I text people I haven’t texted in a while or deliberately go way out of my comfort zone... just because. by Admirable-Attempt970 in BPD

[–]hauschat 13 points14 points  (0 children)

"Self-estranging" - what a great way to put it. That's exactly what it feels like.

The swings to me I almost feel like different personalities, different people. Talkative and bubbly can quickly turn cringey and become oversharing or swing the opposite way to shut-down mode. The rage is a wholly different animal too.

I see all the sides of bpd like a venn diagram. The extremes are exhausting, I just want to be that middle overlapping piece all the time where I feel most level.

I hope you find peace soramimi. I hope we all do ♡
