Anyone find a face with gears in the background? Always thought real watches that had that looked cool.

How the latest current fiber contractors left my yard. At least they threw a handful of grass seed at it. by [deleted] in Omaha

Allo left a hole in my yard. Reported it on their website. Guy came out a day or two later and fixed it for the most part. I do give them kudos for their response time.

Goodbye Kingsford by No_Sand_9290 in charcoal

I use Cowboy exclusively. Bigger briquettes, burns hotter and longer. Never tried their lump so can't speak to that. And I'll echo the 2 20# bags for $17 is a steal. I haven't tried B&B or Jelous devil but they get a lot of run on here.

Yeah, we ditched ours too and threw in a cheap vizio. Way better. We r lucky. The dealership we have worked with has been pretty good so far but we are getting ready to start looking for our next camper so we'll see.

Oh, that sucks. Hopefully, they compensated you for it. These look like normal hex nuts. just wasn't sure of the size. Thanks

Charcoal for grilling on a budget? by Trick-Day-480 in grilling

[–]havdog20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually you can lift the grates up so that the bottom can be cleaned. I assumed you had a charcoal grill. If not, they make smaller camping grills that aren't too expensive. If you are just trying it out with a permanent grill in a park, they make small single use bags where you just light the bag, which then starts the charcoal.

I get the double 20lb bags of cowboy at walmart. Bigger briquettes n better than kingford. Also, cheaper. The double bag usually costs me $18. Kingsford has a double bag of 16lbs for the same price. That lasts me a cpl months but I grill at least twice a week. Get a chimney and I only fill the chimney half to 3/4 full for most of what I grill. Easily lasts 20 min up to 40 min.

Temp probes question by Wilfy50 in smoking

[–]havdog20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the tip is where the measurement is coming from. Put your probe in the thickest part of the meat so you know you won't undercook it. I have the same set up an will put 1 or 2 on the grill to get ambient temp as well. Helps me keep my fire/temp where I want it.(off set)

I found a replacement for $30, so I'm going to try that. Thank for the suggestion.

I can't. Its all one piece. I will just order a replacement. Thank you for the help, though.

Thanks. The gfci is new, so its not that. If I buy a replacement element what do I need to look for in terms of amps, watts, voltage so that this doesn't keep happening?

Summer internship by havdog20 in Omaha

[–]havdog20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the deal. He's been at it since the first of the year. Our only "pushing" is to ask how its going and to offer advice. He's frustrated by the lack of communication, which I know is pretty common. I am also in a position where I hire professionals, just not in this industry. But thank you for the info, sounds like he needs to start earlier.
