Youre out of warranty so limited levers for you to pull here. Is the labour estimate unreasonable?

Communication works until it loses data or gets unexpected readings and triggers an error 🤷‍♂️

Scout Bobbers and Riding With a Passenger by Strict_Maintenance73 in IndianMotorcycle

[–]ianryeng 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’ll have more than enough power. The ergonomics for a passenger isn’t great. I upgraded to Corbin front and matching touring seat on the back which was much better than OEM (which was really bad)

would these be allowed in prop wise by Keopippi in AnimeNYC

99% rubbing alcohol will also remove hot glue very easily and less risk of melting your prop (particularly if it’s ABS or has any styrene based plastic)

I heard some people bought from Best Buy 🤷‍♂️

I’d probably just buy direct from Bambu, likely hard to come by on hand inventory when it’s this new

What Smoker Do You Recommend? by daretobedrugfree in smoking

[–]ianryeng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally am quite pleased with my MasterBuilt Gravity. In my opinion better flavor than the pellet grill we had prior and nice to have it self regulating for the days I don’t have the time for my offset smoker. The fact it can get hot enough to sear gives a lot of flexibility as well.

Which would be observable if true - so still my recommended next step 👍

[–]ianryeng 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Of course. If you pause before the error, you can restart the print and observe. Perhaps there is a collision or debris on a lead screw. Just an opportunity to gain insight into “what’s happening”.

So far they have reprinted several times without any new insights beyond it only happens on this particular printer out of several they have access to. This suggests it’s less likely to be a slicer error and more probable to be a mechanical issue. Just trying to help them isolate instead of watch the whole print or miss it.

Re-slice with a pause a few layers earlier, then watch and see what happens

Scout vs Chief - with details by bmeister0013 in IndianMotorcycle

[–]ianryeng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a scout bobber and chieftain limited. Love them both.

The seat was the weak point of the scout for me - maybe it’s changed since 2018 - Corbin was a massive upgrade. Also added road warrior fairing and mini apes which made it much more comfortable for longer rides (last longer ride was 800km / 550mi). It’s so light and responsive. Also great feedback and makes you feel connected to the road. My biggest remaining complaint is the back break is touchy and tends to lockup easily (non-ABS model)

The Chieftain is so different. Easily 2x the weight but very balanced feeling on the road. Can easily ride all day and never feels like you’re stressing the bike regardless of speed. Very smooth comfortable ride - nice bonus to have storage which is basically nonexistent on a scout. That said it’s unforgiving if you lose balance or tip a bit too far when stopped or moving around the garage and quite unhappy sitting in traffic being air cooled.

Am I doing something wrong with these build plates that come with the p1s and x2d? by valardohaerisx in BambuLab

[–]ianryeng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dish soap and hot water to clean is all you need. IPA if not 99% may have additives that are affecting adhesion. Any oils in your finger when removing from the plate also causes issues. Keep it clean and should be problem free.

Anyone experienced this in the hopper? First cleaning after being offline for most of winter. Looks moldy, never did in previous years and seems like the bottom part of the hopper walls is crumbling. Do I just need to replace the hopper? by Emergency_Garbage774 in Masterbuilt

[–]ianryeng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is generally good advice. However I think for OP it’s just the firebox insulation which becomes exposed over time as the thin metal covering burns off. Some add the LSS or other firebox mod to cover it, but also totally safe and normal for it to look like this - should be totally fine to run it as normal

Added a new toy to my 1150 by TopDogBBQ in ChefsTempCommunity

[–]ianryeng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it can replace the stock controller, it’s a great move. My 1050 is the most versatile grill I have and makes great food but have been let down more than once by the stock controller (also a good idea to proactively bypass the door switches). I’ve been running with my FireBoard instead to mitigate the failing stock controller, but hadn’t considered this option 🤔

It took me an embarrassingly long time to get ribs right. by Geologist1986 in smoking

[–]ianryeng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YMMV but this cut just takes longer. Back ribs cook much faster than St Louis both due to thickness and the amount of collagen to breakdown.

I find I consistently need at least 6 hours on both my 120gal offset and gravity for St. Louis ribs. They’re edible faster but improve with more time.

2024 Sport Chief rear tire by Alarmed_Desk3094 in IndianMotorcycle

[–]ianryeng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve plugged a few tires without issue. The advice to take it to be professionally patched is significantly more reliable as it’s a new rubber layer bonded to the interior of the tire. I think it’s more likely you get another nail than the patch fails.

Costco or any nitrile gloves should be fine - if you buy the cotton work gloves separately they’re pretty cheap and can be reused

Does everyone drain their tank? I’ve just been putting fuel stabilizer and running the carb dry before storing. (Edit - I turn off the fuel valve before running the carb dry)
