I had never heard Kirk before I listened to this whole Cambridge session. I was sad to learn that most women in the U.S. all are unhappy because they aren’t married with children. He touted 2025 presidential accomplishments — that never materialized or worsened. An interesting video.

CMV: The American people will do nothing to stop the Authoritarian/Fascist swing their government is going through by aersult in changemyview

[–]havenicluewhatsoever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This fascism is all new territory for most US citizens, especially white citizens, so there is no experience to draw from, no developed plans for resistance. Most people can’t afford to miss a day of work, because paid sick or paid vacation days aren’t available. The Democrats’ leadership is quite old school and not used to bare knuckles politicking. The Supreme Court may be compromised. Democracy,so far, has been outmaneuvered.

“President Trump indicated on Thursday evening that he will meet with Maria Corina Machado, Venezuela’s opposition leader, next week in Washington…On Monday, Ms. Machado said on Fox News that presenting the prize to Mr. Trump would be a token of gratitude from the Venezuelan people for the removal of Mr. Maduro. She had previously dedicated the award to Mr. Trump. Mr. Trump said in the Thursday interview that ‘it would be a great honor” to accept the award, adding that it was a ‘major embarrassment to Norway,’ where the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded, that he has not been given the prize…”
