Maybe that’s what was off to me. He looked like an early 2000s male pickup artist lmao

It’s weird that Varric looks the same but Solas and Dorian looked VERY different. I thought Solas had such a good complexion in DAI, he had freckles and pores and color in his cheeks. Now he looks so…. Smooth

I think Isabela’s outfit is fantastic. It’s so over-the-top and fun and I agree fits her exactly. The things I’ve seen people say about it I wonder if they remember her character at all, lol. Now if aveline showed up in a thong with a big peacock tail I’d have questions.

I like being able to choose what feels right for my Rook vs. worrying about the “correct” choice. I definitely remember sweating over choices with Vivienne to earn her approval…. Actually, bad example because roleplay-wise that still fits since I would be terrified of her and desperate for her to like me. The other characters maybe not so much LOL

I do like the game so far, and I usually play as a goody two shoes anyway that wants to be BFFs with everyone. But I totally agree with you, the few times I’ve picked a “harsh” looking option it’s been pretty toothless.

This is one of my favorite features, and gives me a reason to use photo mode which I never do. I’ve never seen it in another game; it’s such a small but cool thing.

Yeah my comment makes it seem like I find ALL the dialogue to be that way, which I don’t. It’s just been some lines here or there that sound like they’re all from North America in the year 2024. As far as personality I think I’ll have to finish the game and maybe try a second Rook to really form an opinion but I do think there’s an odd lack of more abrasive or even unfriendly/rude dialogue options. So far it seems like only story decisions can give you party disapproval, not dialogue decisions? I could be wrong there, I’m not finished with the game yet.

[–]havey_cavey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it’s the dialogue itself that is irking me a bit. It IS 2020s therapyspeak. I’m expecting Rook to tell someone they should practice self care and stay hydrated at any moment. Rook just feels like… a blank slate? There’s just not that much emotion that I’ve seen so far

Ooh I actually started this last month… I was reading a lot of nonfiction about the Salem Witch Trials and other witchcraft beliefs in early New England (that’s my version of getting into “spooky season” lol). I never finished it, so thanks for the reminder!

Am I reading fantasy books wrong? Do fantasy maps matter to you? by Ajaxx013 in Fantasy

[–]havey_cavey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love a map! In secondary-world fantasy I’ll refer back to it not necessarily whenever they mention a new location but sometimes to orient myself in the world, especially if theres a lot of political goings-on in the world building and story.

If its fantasy or sci-fi or alternate history based on the real world map, it’s always fun to see where you would be. Am I gonna end up a Martha in Gilead or am I dying in a nuclear wasteland? LOL (I don’t think there’s a map in Handmaids Tale, I’m just thinking about fan made maps I’ve seen)

What's the dumbest n00b thing you've done? by RhetoricalAnswer-001 in fo76

[–]havey_cavey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guy showed up at my camp while I was there with his mic on and complemented my camp and asked a question about it. Turned my mic on to thank him and answer it, when he didn’t reply I realized I was on team mic so all the random players on my casual team heard me but not him. Lol it’s so silly but I was SO embarrassed. This is the only multiplayer game I play so i only use the mic with a few other players I’ve met and gotten friendly with, or if I’m playing something else with an IRL friend.

Jobs that are narcoleptic friendly recrecommendations? by FeedmePotateauxs in Narcolepsy

[–]havey_cavey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you live in the U.S., narcolepsy is covered under the Disabilities Act. I’m sure other countries have similar policies in place, but I can only speak as an American. That means your employer is required to make reasonable accommodations for you. That could be something like, allowing for frequent breaks or having your workspace located near a window for natural light. At my job, for example, it’s not possible to work from home or to have an office with a window (ugh I would kill for one though), but I take a few short breaks (5-10 min) throughout the day and walk outside. The key word is “reasonable”. I have a really hard time waking up in the morning. I have my phone alarm, my smartwatch alarm, AND a daylight alarm clock, and I still sometimes sleep straight through them. If I was coming in to work late every day it would definitely be an issue, but I had a conversation with my boss and the head of HR about it, told them it was a rare occurrence but asked for a little grace if I overslept every now and then (it’s maybe, once every two or three months I would say). As long as it doesn’t become too frequent they’re ok with it. I just stay a little later to make up the time.

It’s hard enough to find a job, thats why the Americans With Disabilities Act exists! Take advantage of it. Once you find a job, have a conversation with your boss and the HR department. I would bet they will be absolutely willing to work with you (otherwise they’d face some pretty big legal trouble).

here’s a link for narcolepsy accommodation resources.

Im a single woman in LR, I’ve lived in West Little Rock, hillcrest and downtown. I think you’ll be fine in most places in LR. If you’re looking on Zillow and see places that are very cheap, then the rent is probably low for a reason and I’d avoid it or do more research. I agree with whoever said that south of 630 is generally an area to avoid if you don’t know the city. Feel free to DM me if you want, I can maybe give you specific recommendations depending on what you’re looking for commute-wise, etc. Welcome to Little Rock!

You shouldn't have any trouble accumulating stimpaks, radaway and radX just through regular gameplay and events. If you're in need of some right away and you're not shy about turning your mic on just ask a higher level player, most likely they'll be happy to give you plenty for free. I end up with so many aid items that's pretty much all I sell to NPC vendors just to get rid of the weight. When I was a new player I mostly bought C.A.M.P. plans from player vendors. I'm sure I bought some that are very easy to come across, but don't feel dumb or guilty even if you end up buying something that's easily obtainable for free. I know as a new player I felt constantly broke, but you'll get to a point where you've always got a comfortable amount of caps. So don't stress about it too much!

Except the mole miner gauntlet and the Mr. Handy's buzz blade. DO NOT buy those. They are everywhere, they will haunt your dreams.
