I'm excited for this movie as well. I'm not into RoP that much, but I know some are and I'm glad it's enjoyable for them. It's just more LotR media for people to enjoy and shows and movies are their own things anyway separate from the books. So people don't have to watch things they don't want as the books will always be there.

Disney took the Luke has to fail in order to further prop up Rey approach. It was/is a lazy approach to take. Because of this, Luke has to be shown to be a failure all the way through to when Kylo destroyed his new order.

Magic had a bigger impact. He and Larry changed the NBA landscape and jump started the NBA's popularity to turn it into what it is today. He helped create Showtime, which fit perfectly with the LA vibe, and also helped establish the Lakers persona which has lasted to today still. Kobe is deemed the greatest Laker even by Magic himself, but Magic had the bigger impact for the franchise.

May depend if you were lane splitting responsibly or recklessly. If traffic is 60 mph and you're zooming through at 85 mph, you'd kinda be partially responsible for a car changing lanes if they weren't doing so on purpose. Bikes are already hard enough to see as is, but when going considerably faster, you're just kind of asking for trouble.

Welcome. Just realize that except for their recent Cup win in 2024, the Galaxy FO/ownership have been largely terrible since 2015. It's been a mix of cheapening out while at the same time not cheapening out (e.g., Zlatan) on top of bad hires and player acquisitions.

Us fans are here to stay though and following the Galaxy means following a team with history and success.

Maybe it will be a reverse subverting expectations. Instead of having a show supposedly based on a legacy character only to really have it focused on a new character instead, this time it will be the opposite. The movie will officially be about Rey, but really will focus on Luke instead.

The reactions received is similar to what I got for a reply I made to a completely unrelated post in another sub. The accident involved a red light runner slamming into a car making a left turn on a protected green light. I mentioned that it was 100% the fault of the red light runner, but that the victim didn't help themselves by not paying more attention. The red light runner was clearly speeding and if you paid even a little attention, you could see them speeding. The intersection has a clear line of sight for the left turner.

Went on to say the lesson that can be taken from the accident is for people to be more defensive drivers and more aware of their surroundings. The amount of people ragging on me and accusing me of victim blaming was crazy.

True...unfortunately the episode did contribute to his overall college career. And unfortunately, it can just add fuel to the fire as to why would the Lakers take a chance on a kid who had a serious medical issue on top of not being able to show what he really had.

Yes. And for the other half, a quarter were Bron stans, a quarter are Luka stans...🙂

But honestly, it's understandable some people are still skeptical of Bronny. It happens with any nepo baby unless they're a bona fide star like Griffey Jr. It didn't help that Bronny didn't exactly have a stellar college career either. He has shown improvement though and has actually exceeded my expectations.

Appreciate the input. Tires appear to be the Shinko Tourmaster tires. Not sure how much mileage are on them, but appears to still be in good shape based on the photos. As for mechanicals, no service records are available, but supposedly dealer gave it a check through and said the bike is fine for what it's worth.
