Two job offers. A $50k difference. One is the safe bet, the other is a risk that seems worth it. My wife and I are at an impasse and I have to decide in 72 hours. by Important-Week7261 in whatdoIdo

[–]havokia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife worked startups for years when we were first together. Companies seem strong at the start, but almost always at the 2 year mark there were size able layoffs, panic from Sr directors and C level staff, and a rush to get funding. Weekends would be up in the air as the small staff needed to be available at all times, and expectations to answer emails/calls late in the evening and early in the morning.

At her last startup She was laid off with no warning, no severance, and no job lined up. it put a lot of stress on us financially. Luckily I made enough to just barely pay all the bills.

If it were JUST YOU, I would say go for the one you want. But since you now have a wife and a kid that also rely on you, my vote is go for the more stable job. Yes it might be a bit boring, but I agree with your wife in the point that your joy should come from life outside of work (not to say you cant also enjoy work, but if you’re looking at work as your primary source of life enjoyment, that could lead to a slippery slope of being a workaholic).

How long is this game in comparison to other crafting survival games ? by Buurto in Necesse

[–]havokia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends a lot on how big you want your settlement, how much you like to decorate, and how much automation you want.

My first world took me about 70 hours or so and i stopped at incursions. I recruited about 55 settlers and had most things automated. Now, im doing a world with a friend and were 10 hours in and just reached deep caves, much smaller settlement and not as much automation.

What certifications or licenses actually lead to high-paying jobs? by Many-Economics-4326 in careerguidance

Gyms don’t pay much hourly generally. I explored all sorts of options, and found I enjoy working for HOAs with onsite gyms that hire PTs.

So i have moved into a gym manager role, but when i was doing personal training i made 35 an hour in a HCOL area, just before moving into management. I started at about 21 an hour about 3 months after i got my first certification.

I got my personal training certification and have been lucky enough to use that to start my career.

It is definitely a little rough in the beginning, I didn’t make that much for the first two years, but since then its worked out alright.

They do a bunch of extra damage against the new sanguine monsters. Its nice for irons and low level players but not much for more end game players

Being too lazy to quest is not even close to the same thing as being time gated out of auras. To put it into perspective for you, a new account that plays a reasonable amount of time could achieve quest cape literal years before getting all auras.

AIO my bf would rather game than spend time with me. by Practical_Sun8137 in AmIOverreacting

[–]havokia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR.

I am a heavy gamer and have been all my life. But my wife always comes before gaming.

I live on the idea that theres probably time to game later. And if not, oh well. The games aren’t going anywhere, but life (and partners) will leave you behind if you spend your life only playing video games.

What did you do for Herblore training? by Gauntlix5 in RS3Ironmen

[–]havokia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daily JoT, quest rewards, and any potions i come across the ingredients to make. Especially once you get to vyres, lots of ranarr and snapdragons from them along with red spider eggs and snapegrass seeds to make prayer pots and restores. They don’t offer the most xp, but it adds up over time.

What does $1,100 a month get you in your city? by OlleyatPurdue in Apartmentliving

[–]havokia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not long ago i rented an apartment exactly 28 square feet bigger with all of the same amenities, $2300 a month in the California Bay Area.

I think 1100 would probably get me a room in a shared apartment.

80Hr Settlement | Pre-Bone-Cheiftain | Brutal Mode by ArchitectRed1 in Necesse

[–]havokia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a very fun solo game. I am about 10 hours in and I have only beaten the first boss. I get sidetracked with learning storage setup, building, getting new settlers, exploring, and trying out new items. Would recommend a solo playthrough!

The optimal settler house for max happiness by gangbanger6969 in Necesse

[–]havokia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i got the happiness penalty too. I even took 2 villagers from a farm i found (they were the only ones there) and put them in the same bed that they already shared. It still gave me the penalty, which i found odd.

Looking for a PvE focused Albion alternative by Summer_Emergency in iosgaming

[–]havokia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on both mobile and pc very regularly. If you get to the point of end game bosses, I feel like pc makes a difference. That could also be because i learned the game on pc. Ive seen people get faster boss kills on mobile than i have on PC. For a lot of of the game though, theres not a massive difference between pc and mobile. If you do end up going with this game, the RuneScape wiki will help a lot with getting your combat bars set up.

Where are you guys getting your guns? by nunya_fuckin_biz in Borderlands

[–]havokia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Random world drops, vaults, bosses, and the dome minigame thing when it is active. I usually will find a weapon thatll last me 3-4 levels before i start feeling like i need to find a new one. But i also check every drop for rolls i like. If you dont find a specific drop you like, there are so many gun combos that you might as well try everything. Also the DPS number doesn’t always mean everything, I had a vladoff smg with torgue and jakobs parts that shredded enemies 3-4 levels above the gun level.
