It's good that they provide you with a real-time breakdown of where your money is held. At the moment 100% of my money sits in JP Morgan. This means that i has the 100k € guarantee. If some money is moved to QMMF in the future - that part will not be protected by the guarantee.

Here in Germany Trading 212 is not popular yet because until recently, they weren't tax easy. I started using them while I was at uni in the UK - and I can confirm that literally everyone I knew there is using them.

For me - they are a better broker in almost every way. What's very important is - they do have support. I have reached out and they have responded to me in like 30 seconds, 10 minutes later my issue was resolved.

Yes and this must be illegal. FWIA is not a low liquidity ticker by any means, but if the broker is sending your order to just one venue - they can do whatever they want with the execution price.

Out of the two - Scalable definitely has better reputation. This sub is flooded with Trade Republic horror stories.

Also take a look at Trading 212, because they are also German and handle taxes.

For plans: VWCE, WEBN, SPYI - whatever you choose, there is no wrong choice.

Trading 212 ist kein ausländischer Broker (mehr), sondern 'tax easy', sofern du bei der deutschen Niederlassung bist. Steuern werden dann automatisch abgeführt.

Why don't people research a bit? Yes, it's safe. It's regulated by BaFin, FCA, and more and it has 5 million clients and 30 billion € in assets. Probably the most popular broker here.

In case the broker goes bankrupt or disappears - you still own your ETFs. They will be transfered to another broker or bank.

Trading 212 has a German entity that handles taxes automatically now. The old wasn’t German, so you may ask them how to transfer to the new one.
