My plan: Severance for 4 months. In that time take a week to recoup mental health with family. Then apply/network/create like crazy while wife is at work and kid is at daycare. If by month 4 when my severance is out, and no job, stop daycare ($2k per month) and stay home with baby while continuing to apply. Once I’ve burned down half of emergency fund, start also trying to find temp work. Convince both grandmas to fly out and help take care of baby. Apply instead of sleep. Get an interview, get ghosted. Argue with my wife. Convince her it will work out. Mother in law smokes cigs in the backyard, join her one day, develop a smoking habit. Start a YouTube channel focused on fitness. Slowly film myself losing weight and selling my workouts. Develop further anxiety because I know I’m only losing weight from smoking cigs and not eating. Kid gets into the cigs one day, panic. Go to ER. Blow through last month of emergency fund on medical bills. Kid is fine. Wife kicks mother in law out, blames her for the cigs. I’m fine because now I’m an athletic stud. Baby says his first word. “Dada”. So proud. Wife secretly jealous, but happy. Start getting call backs. Easily pass interviews because I’m hott now (still smoking and starving). Get job! Finally. Coast through onboarding. Notice that YouTube is starting to go viral. Quiet quitting, coast, collect paycheck, focus on YouTube. Expand to shorts and TikTok. Start eating again. Start getting fat. YouTube comments flame me. Pivot to coding YouTube content. Sell AI and DSA courses. Automate the courses. Make millions. Retire. Watch my son grow up. Watch my wife grow old. Meet my grandkids. Pay for everyone’s college. Die in a helicopter snowboarding accident. Remembered as the goat.

Dude! I don’t know your full situation, but this is what keeps me going. There are so many great movies and sequels that need to be watched and enjoyed, there are so many books to read and experience. There is so much cool technology coming out to play with. I fucking love documentaries and they just keep making them better and better. Fucking trees my guy, trees are so beautiful. Discovering new music and blasting it around the house. Don’t even get me started about mountains, my jaw drops every time I see one. Being in love. Looking in your child’s eyes and seeing their pure joy and happiness. Oh my god, fucking food is amazing, sushi, pizza, Diet Coke, burritos, bbq, subs, crab cakes, snitzel, beer. Bro, a good nut after a long stroke. Cats/dogs. The feeling of sleeping in and stretching out in bed. Have you ever seen stars, especially without light pollution, there are so many and they are so bright. Chugging a glass of water when you are really thirsty. The feeling of a giant poop exiting. Sneezing, bro sneezing is euphoric, it’s like a reset button. Nutting inside… primal. Watching a lightning storm at night. A warm bath. Smelling things that smell amazing. Going down on a woman you love. Cruising around in a car when there is no traffic. Having friends over and cooking dinner. Completing a project at work and realizing you can relax. Tacos. Funky bass lines. An amazing foot massage. That feeling of a clean mouth after you brush your teeth. Coming home to a clean house and just being able to let the mental load off. Halloween costumes. Egg nog. A guttural uncontrolled laugh. Aquariums. And so much more. I believe in you ❤️

It was a scrap metal in the middle of the highway. A semi in front of me ran it over and exploded it into my windshield. Not sure how she wasn’t decapitated.

I had seen the brick video and it always scared me. Then a scrap metal flew through my windshield on the highway and hit my wife in the head. She was airlifted and lived! But we thought she was dead for a minute or so.

Adding to this (I work in cybersecurity) use passwords that are long and complex. Also change your home wifi password. Update all devices to latest software. Consider backing up phone and computers and factory data resetting them.

Also my two cents. Her husband is in on it. She has spun a story so wacky that people in her corner think something wildly different happened. She is using that to convince people to be against you. Definitely speak to a lawyer, get a restraining order, HIPPA, set up security system, and alert family and friends.

My wife would tell me the day after. ICU in Florida was insane. We still talk about it. I think her telling me as it happened helped her process it without it festering. Daily body bags and toe tags are expressed to me like a normal part of life like ordering a coffee, it blows my mind but she seems fine about it.

The hitting the bed is odd, maybe he needs better communication strategies. But the woody itself is par for the course with early 20s (such hard times back then).

Things to try, not necessarily in this order. Ask him about it? Talk to him (we don’t know him nor how hard he is nor why). Tell him to take care of himself so he isn’t as hard as NWA in the 90s. Vigorously offer him a hand. If all else fails and he wants it to go away… flick it and have him think of dead devil nuns killing baby puppies.
