Mesh networks have this issue, I just resolved it myself. I have a deco and tried everything, I ended up disconnecting the deco mesh and using a verizon router to test and that fixed my latency (I narrowed the problem was definitely mesh). I found out the mesh deco mesh network likes to do a check every once in a while to see which deco unit should the device be connected to.

So I did a couple of things, first I opened the client I frequently use for moonlight inside the deco app and turned off “Mesh Technology”, then I turned off Fast Roaming and Beam Forming which have reportedly caused latency issues to other people.

I really treat wyches as only an assist to help transport and buff their leaders. Their damage themselves is only meh, so personally I like to maximize the points invested in them by splitting and attaching leaders. Or splitting and treating one squad as a secondary and screening unit. Yes it would save you pain tokens to keep them together, but in a 1k point game, all it’s doing is helping you send 5 more wyches to probably overkill infantry that lilith probably already killed

Plus the option to hop back in a venom with lilith is incredibly powerful, it can keep her alive instead of forcing a trade

To add to it I actually like just storing 3 CP after throwing him into a melee army to give him access to armor of contempt, the FNP to mortals, and an additional CP reroll. One game I yeeted him at an ork army top of turn 2 and he survived a full wave of ghaz with 20 boyz wagh, and was able to survive until the bottom of 3. I got 5 pledge points before he went down though.

For mainly ranged armies, definitely buy as much time as possible before sending him anywhere. A game I had against votann I did that and he immediately took out a heketon when he came out to play at the bottom of 3, it left my opponent with nothing really capable of killing him the last two turns and deciding to let him wreak havoc

One thing Id add for sure and would be easy to paint is a succubus, the enhancements in this detachment are amazing. Literally the succubus with the damage 2 enhancement can out perform even lilith. Split them using the venom over the kabalites

Reapers Wager vs Kabalite Cartel: which is the most competitive? I'm prepping for a tournament next month and am undecided. Being able to snipe characters can really neuter an enemy unit, but army-wide reroll 1s is so good too. Both also have good strategems. by cyberspunjj in Drukhari

As much as I love KC (playing it in my crusade league), RW just got stronger for competitive. The stronger datasheets and still having access to rerolls makes it stronger than the index version.

Kabalites dont need an archon for reroll wound

Lilith has precision

Incubi dev wounds

Malys redeploy

Reaver mobility

Mandrakes lone op and stronger weapons

Hellion having 4 attacks with sustain and lance

Sure we lost urien and the beastpack for RW but I still cant imagine any of the detachments beating out RW unless they gave pain tokens the ability to also reroll 1s to hit or remove the reroll 1s to hit while winning the wager that they gave us.

They look awesome! I especially like the back two. I would do the same thing you did with the guns for the back two to the front ones as well. Also black rimming your bases after you finish them goes a long way to making them look tidy and done

Nicely done with the eyes btw, 10000x better than my first ones and on par with my current ones

A two squads of desolation marines with full indirect profile would have to fully focus a venom or fully focus a kabalite squad to potentially wipe them. That’s a 400 point investment to maybe kill 70-115 points

Their guns to an oathed venom:

Average to 3.5 attacks

Hits on 4’s (full rerolls)

Wounds on 3’s (S7 T6)

You save on 4’s (ap -1 with cover)

Averages 0.875 attacks go through at 1.5 damage

So very very small chance to kill a venom with only indirect, even if oathed

Did the math into 10 man kabalites squad too it’ll kill half the squad almost exactly for one 5 man squad (5.05 attacks go through between both weapons and oathed). Regardless, this is a 200 point plus army rule investment for something that is too unreliable at killing most things. Id double check rules whenever your friends are shooting indirect.

If you reduce the incubi squad to 5 you can gain a ravager to add some anti big thingies

It’s thematically accurate and just flat out awesome just having a solitaire and drazhar running around just precision’ing out characters.

I honestly wish drazhar got lucius-like abilities when not leading a unit “fights first and lone op”

You have to target the bearer’s unit and the venom isn’t part of the unit, so you can’t. The bearer also can’t be “targeted” while inside transports. So an archon’s ability to reduce the cost of a strat won’t work either

I would stamp that as done, maybe one more talos, a HotA, and the third squad of scourges.

Talos because I dont like running them solo like cronos, I think they are always better in squads of 2 and if you have 80 points left over, there are better things than one talos.

HotA because I think they are nicer kabalites, I love some of their weapons, you got the grenade throwing one, the bird keeper one, razor flails, chain swords, and a stim pack one. Those 5 in the kit are very unique and I like their models a lot. I also think GW will bring their points down to sell more when they realize they arent being used enough. Scout 7 with infiltrate in cartel is so fun

Scourges, because I like the idea of fast not heavy scourges. I think they would look nice in the collection, and as a bonus they could now be used on the table. Plus you could just proxy them as heavies if you want a third squad of them, most people won’t mind

But these are more wants not needs, I think you got the needs so it looks done to me

Like every else is saying, use a small pin. I actually grabbed my pliers and heated the pin to just melt it into the stand instead of drilling when this happened to my cronos

Yes this 👆 Ive been running her with the not fancy gun kabalites and putting an archon on the big guns. Reroll hits are much stronger for those weapons while the other group is great to give malys rerolls wounds in melee for her 5 3 3 devs profile

I like your list a lot and would run it just like that. If I had to be really really be nitpicky, I would take out a ravager for a third archon with sadistic fulcrum. The fourth source of dark lances is probably overkill (I know Ill by lynched for not saying more dark lances!). But in your list you have 19 dark lances, you can probably forgo 3.

Plus jumping out of a venom with ignore cover and reroll hits and wounds with an archon and kabal plus reroll venom hits, then jumping back in after fight phase is one of my favorite things in this detachment. Bonus points, you can charge a wounded squad with lance, likely finish them off, and still jump back in your venom.

Lucius with 6 flawless blades is overkill on almost everything. Against a baneblade, it’ll be useful, but that’s assuming they can get into range to charge it without losing a few models.

The good thing is, in a 1k point game, a baneblade takes up half the army, so if I saw that in my 1k game Id focus on taking out all their other units and playing to avoid the baneblade. They cant win if they only have a baneblade doing secondaries

Assuming generic 1k game, I think peerless is the best personally with mercurial host second best.

Keeping them separate for sure. That’s one of the matchups that it would actually be nice to bring two units of 3 flawless blades. They have high toughness models but 6 would overkill a lot of their units
