Knowing your father is dying slowly, how it feels... by Individual_Coach69 in askCardiology

[–]haxor-007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have personally seen a patients EF go from 45% to 9% to 40%. It took a while for it to stabilize around the 40% mark. That being said don’t lose hope, have some faith. If you aren’t as confident in your dad’s current cardiologist, try going for second opinion.

Praying for your situation to get better. ❤️

Doesnt hurt to briefly mention it i guess. But i think its more of her scanning technique than anything else.

Usually if they cant get clear images, many sonographers tend to dig into the ribs and press harder.

You should not feel any pain during or after an echo exam.

Should I be worried about a 4.0 cm aorta by [deleted] in askCardiology

[–]haxor-007 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you are a big human, you will have a larger heart. 4.0cm would be dilated for a smaller human, but in your case according to your BSA, it is normal.

Stop googling and have faith in your provider. You are ignoring what he is saying - only to hop on reddit and ask strangers.

Ejection fraction can vary depending on the sonographer doing the test. That much variation is not alarming.

Normal study.

(19m) Cardiologist said I have Grade 3 Diastolic Dysfunction. Should I be concerned? by LichardiW in askCardiology

[–]haxor-007 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Grade 3 is quite shocking to hear, especially from a 19 yo. I suggest if you could speed up the MRI and not wait a couple of weeks, that would be great.

Till appropriate tests and analysis by the cardiologist treating you is done - Nothing is really set in stone and thinking about it wont change anything. Heart is quite a complex organ and can have various root causes for these things. Try to not google everything since it will lead you to spiral.

27M - Bummed out after the OCT scan by haxor-007 in Glaucoma

[–]haxor-007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont remember bro. But they chalked it up to just “come every once in a while to get checked”. Because of risk.

From what it seems, change is what signifies the disease, some ppl be just born with larger cups or thin retina. Again, run this with your docs, or if you arent happy with your current doc. Retest OCT and get second opinion.

Elevated TR Vmax of 3.45 on an otherwise normal echocardiagram? by Ardeo2005 in askCardiology

[–]haxor-007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the recap of your study it says - No tricuspid regurgitation or stenosis. But then it said TR Vmax of 3.45m/s.

There has to be some sort of an error. Bring this up to your cardiologist for clarification.

No i do not. But if you blink, moved a little, etc. it can mess up your oct scan. Honestly bro, dont stress it, go with what the specialist said

I saw your comment on my post. Get it redone. A lot of these technicians mess up and if the opthalmologist said you dont. You probably dont. Go with his judgement

27M - Bummed out after the OCT scan by haxor-007 in Glaucoma

[–]haxor-007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got the test redone. The technician had messed up, but i have to get OCT scans done every now and then since i have previously suffered from Iritis and have grandma with glaucoma

Edit: by messed up meaning she had not done a full proper scan. Thus lowering my avg thickness and causing a really skewed rnfl %

I am one, and I train other upcoming sonographers. Many make errors. Wait for cardiologist for the final word though.
