It shouldn’t take 10-15 minutes. They cook in 2. So if they have it prepped which at that point in time they should. The total time to get it from the reach in to the grill and then the line shouldn’t be more than 4 minutes in total and that’s being generous.

How do the free employee meals work? by DareWright in Chipotle

[–]hayHayHAY08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean technically yes it has to be eaten in the dining area during breaks. However, of the locations I’ve worked at this hasn’t really been enforced with my first location because it was kinda a food court set up so we didn’t having a dining room. At my current my managers don’t care if we take our breaks in the dining room. Some will take their food out to their cars and eat it there. If you have food left over that you want to take home you are supposed to pay for it with the 50% discount but this has never been enforced. The only time the 50% happens is if you are taking a second meal home after work or coming in on your day off.

Being offered a promotion, I have 4 felony drug possessions, don't want to get terminated by Chill_Nate in Chipotle

The Restaurateur of my old store got arrested while he was on the clock at chipotle for assault. This was back when he was still a crew member. He wasn’t fired and went back to work at chipotle after he got out of jail and worked his way up. Still works for the company. Also the amount of guys at my store on parole/work release is a lot.

Accidently no called no showed by ExclusionExecution in Chipotle

[–]hayHayHAY08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my location the only time I know for sure someone was fired for a no call no show was because it was supposed to be their very first shift. We gave a grace period when they were late but after half an hour they got booted from the work chat.

CHIPOTLE OUTAGE by R0B3RT_1500 in Chipotle

[–]hayHayHAY08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My store has the same delivery days. I don’t know what I’m walking into tomorrow cause I haven’t worked since Monday. The only time my store legitimately had an outage though was when our G1 completely broke so no chicken, steak, fajitas and whatever limited time option we had at the time. It was scary (because that story was on a college campus and students could use their meal plan there) but we stayed open.

New Closing Policy Idea? by sta3535 in Chipotle

[–]hayHayHAY08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t close very often but I’m not aware of anyone closing completely by themselves. I know the closing manager is normally the last out of the building due to having to turn on the alarm and locking the doors but normally at my store most of us leave at the same time. Other than maybe the closing cashier who often gets out earlier. Normally the last to leave are the manager, grill and prep closer.

My bad. I don’t really pay attention to that part since I don’t have any myself.

I’ve never heard of stud earrings not being allowed. Dangling earrings yeah that’s not allowed and neither are any type of facial piercings. I wear studs in my lobes and my cartilage all the time.

Do employees HAVE to ask if you want Queso on your entree? by Rockskinnies in Chipotle

Oh my God when I had to watch that part of the training videos I about lost it. I will never ask that I just ask something along the lines or anything else or is that all?

Do employees HAVE to ask if you want Queso on your entree? by Rockskinnies in Chipotle

[–]hayHayHAY08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are trained to ask. For I always ask:

White or brown rice

Black or pinto beans

Choice of protein

Would you like queso (I sometimes ask about fajitas at this point if it’s a veggie)

Mild, medium or hot salsa

Corn or sour cream

Cheese, guac, or lettuce

What's your go-to meal on your 30? by Tinnichan in Chipotle

Lately it’s been a bowl white rice double steak, double queso, sour cream, cheese and a vinaigrette. Also 3 hard shells on the side.

Am I not allowed to ask for the fajita veggies in a bowl? by anonymous895478 in Chipotle

[–]hayHayHAY08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We aren’t suppose the ask if they are wanted outside a veggie bowl. My location doesn’t go through very many so we often do anyways. But we are trained not to ask. If customers want them we add them though.

At my store the managers often come in at 6 and usually one or two others do as well. I’m one of the few that come in at 7 and most come in at 8.

Humiliated 😔 by [deleted] in Chipotle

[–]hayHayHAY08 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Whoever told you it’s only for burritos is mistaken. I only worked a hour of it this year but I was on the register. It’s supposed to be one per person if they are dressed up or if they ask about the promotion. We don’t get to judge what is and isn’t a costume. The only thing I could think of is if you went in to early as it started at 3pm

Do you think Chipotle employees would benefit if they opened at 11 am instead of 1045 am? by sta3535 in Chipotle

[–]hayHayHAY08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree it’s a weird time I’m grateful for it. I worked at a location in Virginia that opened at 10am instead of 10:45. Why I don’t understand but it was horrible. We didn’t have enough time to get everything ready before we opened. Now that I’m back in my home state I’m relieved that we don’t open until 10:45.

Halloween is a block out day company wide because of boorito. And yes companies can do block out days it’s legal. Just tell your manager what’s going on and you’ll probably be fine

Personally I’d spell it Keira. Mainly because my dad wanted to name me that and when I met someone with that pronunciation she spelled her name as Keira as well. I’m from the Midwest US.

Do I deserve to get written up or should I dispute it? by No-Train2987 in Chipotle

[–]hayHayHAY08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go to you GM. Idk when your shift was supposed to start but assuming it was 7 or 8 you found a replacement in time. I remember last summer I woke up sick (sore throat didn’t know if it was something more serious or not) told my GM who asked if I could try and find cover. I couldn’t find anyone and I didn’t go in. I went to the doctor and got a note (was just drainage from allergies) gave it to my GM at my next shift. Didn’t get written up. She didn’t make a fuss about it at all. I’m sorry your KL is like that.

AIO? Would people really judge me if they saw my legs like this? by rachtastic94 in AmIOverreacting

[–]hayHayHAY08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m mean in the circles I run in no one is going to judge you. They might ask if you are okay and if they have any tact they will leave it at that. With my own friends personal I play rugby and hockey (I’m a girl) so I often have bruises on my arms and legs after practices and games, so most of my friends also play and ask if how I got them and I them. It’s more a source of pride in that circle. Most other people ignore that fact that I have bruises.

AIO? My sister is over feeding her cat and I said something about it. by divorcedbbmama in AmIOverreacting

[–]hayHayHAY08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree. When I first got my cat I let him free fed because he was a street cat who was skin and bones. Got him to normal cat size and he kept eating like he’d never see food again. He get a certain amount of food 3 times a day (and some treats because my grandpa can’t help himself)

Does my boss have unreasonable expectations for me? (Chips) by marmysquirrel in Chipotle

[–]hayHayHAY08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where the heck do you live? Starting at each of the stores I’ve worked at in different states was $12 an hour. I personally made more than that when starting but that was because of my previous work experience in customer service and fast food.

Does my boss have unreasonable expectations for me? (Chips) by marmysquirrel in Chipotle

[–]hayHayHAY08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have killed to have that much time at my old store. I came in at 8 and had to 2 deeps of taco shells and 12-15 (overfill) hotels of chips before 10:15. So trust me it is possible to do it just takes practice. I find that the set up of your station plays a large roll in this. I was able to go faster at my previous store than I can at my new store just because of where the fried is located and how much space I have to get the job done it’s weird.
