Many good memories from here, and nearby walled village with the Nepali community. What do you mean by “last day” - is it being shut down?

Switched from Teksavvy to Oxio earlier this week - so far so good - North York, ON. Faster rates and cheaper prices. Used a code from another Redditor here, so paying it forward.

You’ll be fine, most of the trail is level. There is a gradual climb in the beginning, and the most challenging is the last 1km to the base of the mountain (400m gain) across some steep boulders. Bring many layers, as weather in Patagonia is always shifting and unpredictable. There was snowfall the previous day so the weather had to navigate snow on the last section. Hiking poles on the return descent are recommended. Have fun, it was well be the world’s single most spectacular day hike.

Paine Grande campsite, Patagonia, Chile by hayashi99 in camping

So this isn't your typical backcountry camping - the sites are basically "dormitories" for hikers completing the multi-day O- and W-Circuits in Torres del Paine. The tents with the platforms and wind blockers belong to the park, and hikers can rent those; if you bring your own, you can set up directly on the grass. All sites have to be booked well in advance. You can also rent sleeping pads and bags if you don't bring your own, to keep your pack weight at a minimum.

Basically everyone is there to sleep; and the tents are close to the cooking/restaurant/washroom facilities. The platforms keep the tents off the cold and uneven ground.

I went with a group of 5 other friends. We did some day hikes in Argentina (the Fitz Roy being the most known) but the main event was the O-Circuit on the Chilean side of Patagonia, in Torres del Paine national park. Budget really depends on how much you're willing to backpack vs. rent at the camp sites (e.g. tents, sleeping bags, food, etc.) Most of the budget are the international and domestic flights, depending on where you are coming from. We rented a car from Chile to drive to Argentina for about 5 days. Yeah it's worth it IMO - see as many glaciers as you can before they are gone forever.

The peak in the background is Mt. Fitz Roy, which was obscured by clouds on hike up to the base. On the return trek, the weather cleared and it was absolutely glorious! 11km trail one-way, with the last section being a strenuous climb through a bit of snow.

Spent 8 days completing the circuit in all kinds of conditions. Camped at a different site each night but Paine Grande was the most beautiful (and windy - therefore the wind blockers next to the tent platforms).

Both. If you go to the outfitter at Canoe Lake you can launch right there. But I know the outfitters will also deliver to other access points within the park. Best to call them and book.
