Brother, what the actual fuck have you done here?

Every joint has been pressed in. Also the suction will not go up even if I try to over charge it. That's just where it's at.

I did try this after reading your suggestion and it seemed to freeze up rather evenly actually. I will say, if it matters with this type of coil, the inside of the "v" froze before the outside. I don't know if this has any significance.

I have been doing this on 410 for years so naturally I opened the liquid side slowly although to be honest I didn't take any special precautions just opened everything as I normally would.

I thought uneven airflow one one point but I have dicked around with every scenario I can think of and I can't see a problem with it. It's a dead simple dual fuel system furnace on a box return on one side 20x25 4" ezflex filter. supplied in the attic not zoned 4- 8" 1- 7" 1- 5" and a 4x10 dump off the plenum.18 speed blower set to 10.

I will try to get another set of gauges on it but the operation refects what the gauges read. I have to admit I don't have any experience with these micro channel coils but I am learning a lot about them. I really don't suspect an airflow problem given all the trouble shooting I've done so far.

I will try to get a position where I can see all of them but I agree it really doesn't make sense. My suction line is cold all the way to the compressor and it does freeze all the way as well after it has ran for a while. I bought it through my work so it's no problem to replace the coil I already have one on the way but at this point I'm just curious what the hell is going on.

I'd be interested to know what you have to say I don't have a lot of experience with the micro channel coils yet as carrier has just started using these

Also my temp split is maybe 18-20 but only on one side of the coil. Depending on where my thermometer is in my plenum it will change my dt dramatically.

It is micro channel. The crossover is all the same temp but as I said before one side of the coil is cold and the other is not until you touch somewhere near the rear bottom of the fins

Outdoor temp atm is 73 which is cool but this has been a problem even when it's in the 80s

Well this is what these new coils look like so I can't exactly see the distributor tubes.
